I suppose I could've taken license to post my most deep and thought-provoking titles, but I'm being honest. Most of the films I own and watch regularly (because of that) are "comfort" movies. Some of them are "films," and of high art merit, but others are just movies with a bunch of stuff that happens.

1. total number of films I own on DVD/video:
25 or so. I'm not a big movie buff.

2. the last film I bought:
Clerks X

3. the last film I watched:
Honestly, I think it was Not Another Teen Movie solely because Jon Benjamin is in it. Sadly, I needed to sit through it all to see his 20 second part towards the end.

4. five films that I watch a lot or that mean a lot to me:
Clerks
Planes, Trains and Automobiles
American Beauty
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Wet Hot American Summer

5. tag 5 people and have them put this in their journal:

[livejournal.com profile] zaxxon

High School meme (this was originally focused on one year, but my memory aint't that good)
yoinked from [livejournal.com profile] puceangel

[What year was it?]
1995-1996 was my senior year

[What were your three favorite bands?]
Green Day, Pearl Jam and The Mighty Mighty Bosstones

[What was your favorite outfit?]
Shorts and a tee shirt.

[What was up with your hair?]
Still enormously helmet-like

[Who was your best friend?]
Terry

[What did you do after school?]
Watched heroic amounts of television

[Did you take the bus?]
I was close enough to walk or got a ride from Terry

[Who did you have a crush on?]
Carrie B, but I didn't really realize it at the time.

[Did you fight with your parents?]
Only over curfew. We've never had a true argument until I told my mom I didn't want to go to church anymore, but that was during college. Oh, and the time that I stayed out until 2 in the morning with two older co-workers from Arby's when I was 16. One of them told me that oral sex was the greatest thing a woman could experience and that I had to promise to perform that as often as possible when I got a girlfriend. I did.

[Who did you have a CELEBRITY crush on?]
Kelly Kapowski

[Did you smoke cigarettes?]
Nuh uh.

[Did you lug all of your books around in your backpack all day because you were too nervous to find your locker?]
My locker was actually quite conveniently located. The three older girls next to me were actually quite nice to me and one told me that 'Oceans' was the greatest Pearl Jam song ever. She even invited me to her graduation party and she was really cute, but I was too chicken shit to go.

[Did you have a 'clique'?]
Senior year was the year Terry and I really meshed. The friends I had then are for the most part, the friends I'll always have.

[Did you have a "Max" like Zach, Kelly and Slater?]
Carrie B's basement was our hangout

[Admit it, were you popular?]
Not in the slightest.

[Who did you want to be just like?]
I didn't really try to be like anyone but my dad.

[What did you want to be when you grew up?]
A 'businessman'. What the fuck was I thinking?

[Where did you think you'd be at the age you are now?]
I didn't think that far ahead.

If you read this, even if i don't speak to you often, you must post a memory of me. It can be anything you want, it can be good or bad, just so long as it happened. Or, even if it didn't happen, but something cool that you can imagine happened. Like saving a baby from a burning building or kicking Tucker Carlson squarely in the nuts. Then post this in your journal. See what people remember about you.

Think of 3 pictures you'd like to see - things in my house, around it, etc.
Pick something I can take a picture of easily, and sit back and wait for the photos.
twicketface: (Default)
1. Tell me one thing you love about me.

2. Tell me two things you love about yourself. This one I'm particularly interested in, so make it good. I mean it. No self-deprecation allowed!

3. Look through the comments; when you see someone you know, tell them three things you love about them.

4. Do this in your journal so I can tell you what I love about YOU - and if you've already done it, tell me so, so that I can go back and give you some love. (Optional, of course.)

Audience participation post!
1. Think of a word you would use to describe me.
2. Go to Google Image Search and search for that word.
3. Select the picture you see as most fitting, and post it as a reply.
4. Post this meme in your journal.

1. Imagine that you wake up and, as your head clears, you realize that you're in a hospital. You're informed that you've been in a horrible accident, and that they've had to amputate. Which part of your body would you be devastated to learn was gone, and why?

I think I could deal without having legs, although I'd miss tennis and kicking stupid people in the head. Probably my arms, because having to pick my nose with a coat rack would be pretty unsightly.

2. On a lighter note, if you suddenly found yourself growing breasteses, would you feel yourself up?

I'd probably have to quit my job.

3. If you could state something to somebody, and not worry about outside parties being affected, who would you confront, and what would you say?

I'd probably tell my brother, point blank, to get his shit together and how much his decisions hurt other people.

4. Which do you think would result in more gray hairs as you raise them: boys or girls? (And, of course, why.)

I'd guess girls, simply because I'm a guy and think I'd have a lot more to learn about raising them. I also get the sense that they are more expensive to raise, but that's just based on a gut feeling.

5. What is the greatest wisdom that anybody has ever bestowed upon you?

I don't think I've ever had a moment of great wisdom - most of my wisdom has come from observing others (my parents and friends). So maybe taking the time to pay attention to others is the lesson.

Poplar Tree (the Uncertainty) -- looks very decorative, talented, not very self-confident, extremely courageous if necessary, needs goodwill and pleasant surroundings, very choosy, often lonely, great animosity, great artistic nature, good organizer, tends to lean toward philosophy, reliable in any situation, takes partnership seriously.

I'm a little jealous that June 24th gets its own tree )
