I'm nothing if not anal-retentive

Ok, I've been using iTunes for a long iTime and since it's going to be a while until I get an iPod, I've been entering my CD catalog into it in preparation. Some of the songs I imported are unalterable, in that I cannot change the song title/artist/album. I've tried F2 and doing that clickpauseclick technique and it works with 95% of the songs, but not a few of them. Some are WAV files, some are MP3s - they play just fine, but I can't update the info. I've right clicked and selected 'Get Info', but the boxes are grayed-out. What the hell damn fart am I to do? iTunes website is bunk for help, so I turn to you, the smartest person I know.

You can't change the info for WAV files. They don't think that they support the Tags that MP3's do. You would have to convert them to MP3s first. I think that Itunes can do it, not sure though, never tried. I know that winamp does.

Is it possible that the MP3's that don't let you change are older MP3's? That might explain it as well.

SMRT! I converted the wavs to MP3s and got them changed no problem. The other MP3s aren't budging. The MP3s are recent, so I'm not sure what the problems is - maybe the software that was used to rip them was messed up. They play fine, so I guess that's all that really matters.
