$25 to fill up my gas tank last night. The person before me spent almost $40.

I find it interesting that when given a deadline, people come to me the day of the deadline and explain how busy they are. Nevermind they have known about the deadline for three weeks and that everyone else had no problem complying.

I think Creep is the only Radiohead song I've ever heard.

Prius test drive has been moved to next Wednesday. "Vic" sounds like the stereotypical car salesman. Hilarity will surely ensue.

Should I be creeped out by this? My 'team' sent me a birthday card (as they are located 90 miles south). Everyone wrote in normal birthday sentiments (Happy Birthday, Have a Good Day, etc) except for my boss's boss, who wrote, and I quote,

"Brian,
You are the special one. That's for sure.
HER NAME"

Is she trying to be unique or does she, in all actuality, believe that I am the Messiah?

There is actually an underground group of followers that cling to your every action and word. I'm a member. HER NAME probably is, too.

These gas prices are redonkulous.

For you, special one, nothing.

I once got a "goodbye" card from a job that supposedly said "lots of luck" but looked a lot like "lots of cock."

Could you tell who wrote it?

Yeah. That's how I eventually found out it said "lots of luck." Otherwise I never would have known.

I just got a training plan signed by an employee who goes by Lizz. Suffice it to say I laughed outloud when I read her handwriting:

Brian-

I believe this goes to you.

-Jizz

Sadly, it's S. "Swabber" just doesn't have the same ring to it.

Perhaps there is hope for a middle name?

If this happened to me, with my sense of humor that didn't move beyond 7th grade, I wouldn't be able to look this girl in the eye again without thinking "your name is jizz."

You would like more Radiohead. I say this is so, since we are the same person. LISTEN NOW.

Start with The Bends. Then move on to OK Computer. I don't know how into experimental/avant stuff you are, but Kid A, Amnesiac, and Hail to the Thief are all like that. They're still really good, though. The Bends and OK Computer are just far more rockin'. I don't have Pablo Honey, their first, which is the one that Creep is on, but I've heard some other songs off of it and they're all right. It's probably also worth investigating, for kicks. But The Bends and OK Computer will totally be your best friend. I didn't even get either of these albums until 1998. I don't know WTF I was thinking waiting that long!!!

My favorite Radiohead album after all this time is actually Hail to the Thief, which is their newest. But I still really, really like The Bends and OK Computer. Fave songs off of those: god, it's so hard to decide. I guess "Bulletproof" for a light mood and "My Iron Lung" for more rockin' off The Bends, and off OK: "No Surprises" and "The Tourist," but EVERYTHING ON BOTH OF THESE ALBUMS ROCKS SO HARD ok I am done now, man, Radiohead is really my favorite band, isn't it.

I just took a car trip to NYC two weekends ago with a friend who's as crazy about Radiohead as I am. Maybe crazier. We sang the whole way up and I nearly lost my voice. Then we met up with my friend who is even more crazy about them. We walked around on the streets of NYC singing a capella versions of various Radiohead songs as we headed off to our evening exploits. Fabulous moments!!!

"Fake Plastic Trees" by Radiohead is probably one of THE BEST songs ever written.

I find it interesting that when given a deadline, people come to me the day of the deadline and explain how busy they are. Nevermind they have known about the deadline for three weeks and that everyone else had no problem complying.

The best thing I've ever heard in relation to this happened when I was working at a landscape architectural firm. One of the guys was on the phone, laughing a little cruelly. He finally said, "(client's name), you've known about this deadline for five months. I told you that if you wanted mt to help on this project, you'd need to get things to me by three months ago. The deadline is next week. No, I'm not going to work on this. Just because you procrastinated doesn't mean I have to pick up the slack."

I wanted to applaud.

"Brian,
You are the special one. That's for sure.
HER NAME"

No! I'm Brian!

That's the hard part of my job - determining if I can tell the larger cogs what to do. But I really like that approach.

When I take over, things will be quite different.

Whenever I don't know what to say on a stupid office card for someone I don't know, I use Middle-School Yearbook speak. Like "Have an awesome summer, TTFN!!!"

Radiohead is sheer genius.

I agree that Bends is a brilliant album. The song Street Spirit (aka Fade Out) is unsurpassable in terms of how it affects my emotions. It's perfect to lay on your bed and stare at your ceiling --- you become entralled with the song. Download that if anything.

I also have some other albums - but I wouldn't purchase some of their albums unless if you are open minded musically ---> start with Hail to the Theif... some argue that it's not good, but I happen to love it.
