Last night, Marie and I were playing with Mitten (toys on string are by far the most interesting) when she abruptly stopped pouncing around, laid down on her back and was licking her arm. She was 'spread eagle' as she was doing this, which prompted Marie to say aloud "That's not the most attractive pose for you" to Mitten. Mitten responded by covering her butthole with her other paw. We could not stop laughing.

And that, dear friends, is why Mitten the Wonder Kitten is the best kitten in the entire world.

Cats are Funny

For starters, I picked up a fake mouse and a roly ball for Snowball. She pretty much ignores both (except for eating off the tail of the faux mouse). What does she REALLY love? The piece of string Dave found in the pantry.

I've discovered that Mitten is a big fan of Smoke flavored string cheese. All good things are, for sure.

Be careful with the string cheese. Dairy makes some cats have runny poopy.

Good to know. She's always going crazy for my leftover cereal milk or wanting to lick my cream-cheese covered bagel. Silly kitty.

The best cat toy ever is this thing called a "cat dancer." It's basically a piece of wire with little bits of cardboard on the end. Cat's go ca-razy for it.
My younger kitties also really like lazer pointers. They'll chase that little red dot all day.

I think all kittens should come with laser pointers factory installed (you know what I mean). Mitten will chase it for hours and hours. I think she realizes it's not a real thing, because if she swats at it with her paw and I turn it off, she doesn't lift her paw to see if it's there. Smart.
