As I sit and listen to George W. Bush spout rhetoric and try to unconvincingly sound sympathetic and patriotic, I can't help but wonder if this is the end of it all. When will the world stand up, together and tell the US that enough is enough? Politics can be so engaging and interesting, but when we, after thousands of years of supposed evolution, are given these political leaders, is it any wonder that our faith has dried up? Anyone who says otherwise is simply fooling themselves. If we are the ones to decide who deserves our US version of "justice", who decides when the US is out of line? Who says that the US is really acting in the best interest of the world? I don't know if I can take much more of this...

In cheerier news, I had a bagel this morning and it was really, really good.

I'm making taco jazz and puppy chow for the bachelor party, so we'll be eating good. Like I was worried. I still need to get a sock full of quarters for card playing and make sure I've got camera film and a tape for the camcorder. If only there was a way to share the debauchery via my website.

I've been listening to a lot of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers lately. Methinks it's time for a compilation CD...

Terry came by last night for cribbage. I'm getting butchered on the tournament this time around, he's leading 14-5. Ouch. While we generally insult each other on a regular basis, Marie noticed I've been meaner to him than usual. Maybe it's my fear of him leaving that is coming out in other ways? I must admit I've noticed it too. Time to tone it down a bit.

Also, Jon called and we're planning a trip to Milwaukee to see Bowling for Columbine on the 16th. Movie, and then dinner if the schedule allows. I hope we get a big group together, that should be quite fun. I can't wait to see Jon, seems like forever since we've been able to chat or hang out.

Tonight will be a trip to the Y and probably some soup.

I need to pontificate more on the situation with Eric. I go back and forth on the issue and think I need to make my mind up.
