It’s true. I read it at work.
Anyway, the weekend was rather pleasant and tiring. Friday night Terry came down by us and we had a nice chat. Played some Yoshi and discussed everything from pornography to politics. It was great fun.
Saturday was our outing with Jenny. We picked her up around 10:00 and came back to our place for a round of SkipBo and Jenga. We went for lunch at Culver’s (and I just barely resisted the pumpkin-flavoured goods they had to offer) and then to the Outlet mall. Came back to our place after a few hours of shopping, talked to Carrie B (who was the recipient of our care package) and then back to my aunt and uncle’s. We went to Mancino’s for dinner and I had a delicious veggie grinder, I even left the tomatoes on!
Back to their house and Marie and I visited with my aunt and uncle for a while, which we don’t always get the opportunity to do with my cousins pulling us in 10 different directions. It is interesting to me that while they are the relatives we are most politically opposed to, they are the ones that Marie and I are closest to.
Sunday morning started with church. We got home and I had a quick lunch before a drum date with Brian. We arrived at the practice space and found that the drums were being used elsewhere. So, we went to the grocery store and then back to his place for a visit. I really like talking with Brian; he’s very grounded and interested in what people have to say. We talked about our families and the upcoming bachelor party. Sometimes I forget the enjoyment I get out of a simple conversation.
I left his place around 2:30 and headed to the Y. Marie and I had a heart to heart about my lack of exercise and I’m going to try going in the early evening (after dinner) and see if I have less excuses. It’s just too easy to roll over and get more rest. The best part was watching two football games at once (which I’d kinda be doing at home), but getting exercise at the same time. I’m smart, just developmentally delayed. Went home, got caught up with Marie and watched more TV and had supper. Talked with my dad and brother and then went to bed.
And here I am.
Tonight will be the Packer game at Terry’s, precluded by dinner. Should be fun, I like breaking bread with friends. This was supposed to be more introspective, but today went by rather quickly and my headache is getting worse. Tomorrow I promise to be deeper than usual.
