Had a nice weekend and my calves are still sore. Friday was dinner, drinks and dancing (in that order). The food was fantastic as always and I think it was Brian's first time at Cy's. We headed to Danielle's house inbetween to avoid taking all three cars to Deja Vu. The club was pretty busy but we got our usual table with ease. No live music this time around, which was a little disappointing. Brian's martini tasted exactly like the medicine he had to take when he got his colonoscopy; so much for being experimental.

After the club, we hit up Park Central for some dancing. There is something so intriguing to me about the dance floor and using this setting as a dating option. I never needed to resort to the meat market mentality, thankfully. Seeing these people with tighter than necessary clothing and trampily gyrating against each other had me saying a silent prayer. Brian headed over to the bar while the rest of us were prancing along to the music when I noticed Brian talking to someone. Understand that while I had my glasses on, this was from 25 feet away and only seeing a profile shot. And yet, I indentified him without a second thought: Andy Dernbach. Andy was a classmate of ours since junior high. He played french horn in band and, as a trombonist, I found myself sitting behind him on nearly every occasion. For some reason, I followed the lead of 15-year-old guidelines of emptying my spit valve on the back of his shirt on more than one occasion. At the time, it seemed to be a good idea. I think that's why I'm apprehensive to go to a school reunion; people forgive but they never forget.

Saturday included a stop by my parent's house and then a trip to my brother's. It's hard to have a conversation when they two people you are talking to (he and his wife) are watching TV while talking, and the World Series of Little League no less, which neither of them have any interest. Nothing like making us feel like intruders. As time went on, it got a better. Marie and Muffett took Savannah to the mall while Brad and I played a slew of Nintendo. Spy Hunter, Pro Wrestling, Gradius, Ikari Warriors, RC Pro Am, Super Techmo Bowl and so on. And maybe that's what we need more of; spending time together with minimal talking. I loaned him my copy of Change and he is letting me borrow Soul Coughing's "El Oso". I've given it the once through this morning and I'm enjoying it.

Sunday was a quieter day with time spent at the grocery store and a walk for Marie and I. I'm on the 2nd to last photo album, so I'm feeling a sense of near accomplishment. Also spoke with Eric last night, I got his new contact information and we talked about his job search. I'm realizing I'm still going to have to eventually deal with the problem; I just really don't know how to best approach it.

Woke up extremely tired and ignored prospects of washboard abs for another hour of sleep. I can suck it in for another week or so. Tonight will be watching the Packer game at Terry's house, which should be a lot of fun. Tomorrow night will be the first interview for The Interview Project, with Marie in the hot seat. Still wanting to get everyone "done" by the end of the year, which I think will be attainable.

Oh yeah, and Marie got a tattoo on Friday with a co-worker. It's the Chinese symbol for "Love" and it's on her lower back on the right hand side. I was nervous about it, but think it looks pretty great. I'll be sure to post a picture in the near future. I guess it's my turn next...

Tangentally, Double Standard is my current favorite track off of How To Ruin Everything.

I really need to mop the kitchen one of these days...

Imagine all the ice you could break with the line "Do you want to see my boner?"
