I'm having a nice, Green Day. Dookie is reminding me of getting my driver's license (a gift on my 16th birthday) and also the road trip to Philly since we were all singing along to it on the way back, Insomniac is reminding me of my friend Donna (I first listened to it at her house after she took me to get it lunch time in high school) and the honeymoon (the bathroom at the St. Lucia had Armatage Shanks toilets) and Nimrod is reminding me of a cold day in October when I walked from my dorm room to purchase the CD. Also will put in the CD singles I have (now burned onto one, concise disc) and a bootleg album or two. Hard to believe this is the band I've liked the longest.

Anyway, last night was a good one. Had some quality sex and a fruit smoothie afterwards. How great is life? Great, really great. Also spent some time looking through more old photos. While at the time I'm sure I annoyed lots of people with my repeated photographing, I'm so glad to have it all now. A thousand words doesn't begin to describe it.

Tonight will be a surprise meeting in Appleton to celebrate Joy's birthday. At least, I think it's a surprise. I'm glad it's almost the end of the week; this was a long one. I guess the ones after a vacation always are.

I hope to continue with the scanning project for this weekend and also get my act together regarding The Interview Project. I'd like to put together some guidelines/instructions to follow for some semblence of order and continuity. This could be something special. Also going to visit my grandparents and devise a way to get them to agree to an interview on camera. Would be so valuable to have a memory of them for the next generation. Wish me luck.

Yes, this will probably end up on my website eventually.

Marie - There's simply not enough room to do Marie justice. Simply put, she is who keeps me going. Patient, talented and as thoughtful as they come, Marie gives more to other people than anyone I know. She picks up on other people very well and always can make me smile. She's made married life wonderful and always thinks of me first. And she's a great kisser. Woo hoo!

Tim - Tim is a friend that I'd like to get to know better. Despite typing his name as "Time" without fail each time, he's a very intelligent and very giving person. He is skilled in remembering a lot about different people.

Carrie A - Carrie A is simply great. Personable, friendly and honest, she has a positive attitude regarding pretty much everything.

Kate - Kate is the boisterious little sister I always wanted. Funny, blunt and always smiling, Kate and I would have marathon phone conversations during college.

Carrie B - Carrie B is my longest-standing friend and that takes quite a bit of energy. Wonderfully smart and pro-active, she will indeed go down in history.

Brian - Brian is the person I feel I've gotten closest to over the past year. Hilarious, thoughtful and real, Brian is probably the most popular of my friends and someone that everyone wants to be friends with.

Jeremy - For a long time, Jeremy and I were thick as thieves. Two years as roommates in college and two more living in the same dorm meant spending obscene amounts of time together and comparing life philosphies. He's well-spoken, quirky and fun. Of all my friends, I miss him the most.

Danielle - Danielle is probably my most intelligent friend, which is saying a lot. I hang around with a smart crowd. Socially-dedicated without pretension, Danielle remains a source of strength and wisdom. She is also wonderful at sticking up for herself, which I could use a lesson in.

Liz - Not only is Liz a good cribbage player, she's always full of ideas and excitement. She's very sweet and always good company to have during a Packer game.

Terry - Terry is my closest friend and despite some friction during college (no, not that kind), we've been close as long as we've been friends. A true gentleman and someone you can always have fun with. Serious when he needs to be (which thankfully, isn't that often) and always someone you can count on. He's also terrible at cribbage.

Andrea - Andrea is probably my fiestest of friends. She's also the hardest working. She makes me laugh and is quite good at seeing other people's point of view. We've never had the best relationship, but we both are working at it.

Kristie - The originator of the Poop Knife story, Kristie is a local legend. Giving and funny, Kristie is a blast to have around and a good email buddy to have. More power to her for taking on the task of teaching 8th graders in a Catholic school.

Shreya - Shreya is my most frequent MIA friend, but for good reason. When she's not wading her way through vet school, she's off working at a Florida aquarium or making adult movies. Shreya is very fun and doesn't take any crap. She is also a martial arts expert, so you know I have to say nice things about her.

Anne - Anne is the only friend that I met through a chat room. No, not that kind of chat room. Another random conversation that led to a pretty good friendship. She's a great pen pal and makes up for her sparse communication with lengthy emails. It's also good to be friends with an eventual lawyer, you know, just in case.

Biz - The fiercest cribbage player to ever play against me, Biz fools you with her killer smile and laid-back attitude as she mercilessly pegs you to death. Biz has a heart of gold and is very considerate. I'm hoping her vows of moving back to the area come true, as I've got some revenge to seek on the cribbage board.

Julie - Julie is hands-down the strangest friend I've got. But in a good way. Julie and I met while temping a few years back and have stayed in contact ever since. We routinely make plans to get together and if we get lucky, they actually happen. Julie is considerate and funny with an unhealthy obsession with a guy named Swanson.

Joy - Joy and I also met while temping with Julie, we've forged a weird sort of friendship. Joy is a really great person with a very similar outlook to mine. She's been a good friend and a good email buddy too.

Jon - Jon is the forgotten friend. Jon is more than likely gonna drop the moon on you for that. Not only is his ass a blinding white, but may actually end up touching you! Not only is he cunning and sly, but he will find a way to moon you when you least expect it.
