Last night I took it upon myself to catalog my CDs in alphabetical order after months of disarray. For the longest time, I painstakingly made sure that my music was sorted by artist, should the need to immediately find "Dookie" or "Question the Answers" strike. This was difficult, as I tended to bring 10 or 12 CDs to work each day to listen to while I toiled away for the man.

After moving to our current apartment, I tried to reduce my analitudeness by throwing caution to the wind and letting Pearl Jam live next to the Foo Fighters. And unsurprisingly to everyone but myself, it was okay. With the addition of a CD burner to my personal belongings, my collection has grown and I've had such a hodge-podge of arrangements of CDs, it truly was getting hard to keep track of my discs.

So I updated a spreadsheet of all my CDs and where I got them from (birthday presents, special orders, rare discs, etc). I have 148 CDs, not counting the burned discs I've made or the double NOFX album I'll be getting tonight.

That seems like way too many.

Today has been spent reviewing those "on the cusp" CDs that might be finding a new home via Goodwill. Mighty Mighty Bosstones - Live From the Middle East, Blink 182 - Dude Ranch, Reel Big Fish - Turn the Radio Off, Mustard Plug - Big Daddy Multitude, Operation Ivy - s/t, Less Than Jake - Losing Streak, Atom and His Package - s/t and The Breeders - Last Splash might all be on their way out. If you are interested in them, lemme know and I can disperse as desired. Just don't feed them after midnight.

My cough has gotten progressively worse and I'm hoping for an avoidance of illness during the Memorial Day weekend spent in Eagle River. Wish me luck. At least I'll have some good dreams while I'm there.

I think I'm looking particularly sexy today, with my blue button down shirt and glasses (I rarely wear my glasses at work, but needed to do so today during presentations so I could identify the people I was looking at). Meow.

It's an average CD, the sound/recording quality is pretty bad. Vocals sound about 1/3 as loud as the music, which just irks me.

Being anal retentive about CDs used to be fun, but now it's just a pain in the ass. I used to keep them all in such good order, but now it's become a struggle to keep them from covering my floor. Usually I just keep 90% of mine in about five binders of varying sizes, but it's gotten impossible now. I listen mainly to burned cds and those are pretty well disposable, so I've got around 30 of them, some labled some not, rolling around the glove compartment of my car at the moment. Damn those rebates on spindles!

I've got a tower that holds 200, but with Marie's collection and my computer games, I'm bursting at the imaginary seams.

I'll hafta post pictures when the mood strikes me again.

My brother, 3 years my senior, had a pair of non-prescription glasses (just plain glass) to wear because he thought they made him look cute. I wear them because I'm remarkably near-sighted.
