So it appears that I won't be going quitting anytime soon. I neglected to realize that Marie will be making very little with her AmeriCorps job this summer and we can't afford to live solely on her income. The trip to the Workforce Development office left much to be desired. I will be getting in touch with Career Services at UW-O; hopefully to attain some help through their contacts/guidance. Otherwise, I can annoy HR departments throughout the Fox Valley in search of an internship of sorts. I'd like most to find something.
The weekend was nice and long. Having Friday off was rad. Went back to the chiropractor for another adjustment, WD as noted above, got some new shoes and spent the rest of the day just lounging. It felt nice. I didn't think about work once.
While the pipe bomber has gotten a lot of press lately, I'm wondering why Ashcroft hasn't stepped up to the plate and started reducing the civil liberties from people who look 'vaguely collegiate'.
Terry, Brian and Eric graced Marie and me with their presence (and presents) last night. From Brian I received a gift certificate to the Exclusive Company. Jonatha Brooke, here I come! From Terry (and Danielle) I got the latest
Onion book (Dispatch from the 10th Level of Hell) and a pack of Mensa cards - all logic puzzles and generally stuff to make you realize you aren't as smart as you think you are. I love stuff like that.
On a sader note, Marie's dad (Mike) had to have his dog Sassy put to sleep last week. Hands down, the sweetest dog I've ever known bit and attacked a family member when Mike was in Europe. This is the same dog that her dad would bring to work with him and let children crawl all over without so much as batting her eyelashes. We'll miss you Sassy.
Tonight is a venture to Appleton for dinner with Joy and Julie. Ever notice how when you are mentioning two people's names together, you usually alphabatize them?
There is far too much whispering going on at work today.
