twicketfaceWell, it happened. We got a cell phone on Thursday for ‘emergency use’ for the traveling we do. Friday it proved useful since the car broke down en route to Eagle River. Sigh. 8:00 pm on Friday night and I’ve got a car that won’t ‘go’. Called a mechanic and he towed the vehicle to his shop. Turns out it was the alternator. I didn’t know I had an alternator until he said so. Mental note: Learn more about cars. Got to pick it up on Saturday afternoon and it only set me back $200. GM may be evil, but they make quality cars. Not quite the trade-off I wish it was.
Had a great time in Eagle River despite the car problems, the weather was really great on Saturday. Got to cruise on the pontoon boat and had a lot of good food to boot. Sunday the weather got cold and windy, so we headed back a little bit after lunch on Sunday. Stopped by my parent’s house for the loan papers for Marie’s new car and headed back to Oshkosh.
Tonight we’re going to get Marie’s Dodge Neon after meeting my parents at the bank. Seems that I’m not a good ‘credit risk’ since I’ve don’t keep a balance on my credit card, so my parents have to co-sign on the loan. Ah well, we’ll have it paid off in about 2 years and will probably be looking to get me a different car at that time as well.

How do you tell your grandparents and family members that you are trying to eat less meat when they view meat as ‘normal’?

I think it’s time I hit the weight room. I’m ready to be done with being scrawny. Kissing my biceps hasn’t increased their girth, so I guess I’ll have to go about it the old fashioned way.

I’m up for a good rental movie. Maybe we’ll stop and get one today to watch on the 4th. I think Marie and I are going to have some down time and just have a lazy day. Rock on.
