1000 miles separates us and our destination. We’ve made modifications to our itinerary to hit both the Rock and Roll and the Football Halls of Fame, respectively. We’re hitting up the museums and probably Veteran’s Stadium as well. We’ll be enjoying the open road, the conversation, and the memories of a trip where the only objective is to enjoy ourselves.
Supplies, thus far:
Food
Sleeping Bag / Pillow(s)
Clothes
CDs
Discman
Camera with lots of film
Signs to harass fellow motorists
Books
Cell phone (for emergencies)
Toll money
Map
Spending money
Journal
Camcorder (still undecided about this one)
Anything else?
The car is going to run us about $225 for rental, which is about $100 less than we originally thought. More keychains for me. Plus, we’re getting a ‘full-sized’ car, so I should have the legroom to be able to both drive and passenger comfortably.
I’m hoping that Terry and I can play cribbage in each state we pass through, but that might be a little lofty.
The weekend should be pretty laid back. I hope to seriously go through my wardrobe and weed out the stuff I truly don’t wear anymore and make a trip to the Salvation Army, even though they are jerks (Seeking protection from EEO laws so they can discriminate against anyone not falling under the sex=penis and vagina only definition). Maybe we should try Goodwill instead. Or the Christine Anne Center.
I have this overwhelming desire to clean/organize/de-clutter, but I don’t know if it’s going to last the weekend.
I think I need to trim my initials into my beard. I would be the coolest kid on the block then.
