Weekend was pretty average as far as weekends go. Friday was, um, well. Shit, what did I do on Friday? Oh yeah, talked to Terry and made plans for Saturday. I think Marie watched a movie and I worked on the computer. You can tell how thrill-a-minute it was by how well I remember it.

Saturday we got our new chair and ottoman, both of which are great. They are a little bigger than I remember, so it looks a *little* squished in the living room, but so it goes. The delivery guy responded to my comment of “Wow, it feels like March out here” with “Yeah, I’ve got short sleeves on.” As if I hadn’t noticed.

Saturday evening we went to Kohl’s in Neenah to find some deals. I found a sweater, pajama pants and a pack of socks. Marie got some new ‘unmentionables’ and a load of nail polish. Some sort of kit with utensils for nail grooming. I have a feeling I’ll be getting a pedicure out of the deal, once again proving that Marie really is in love with me.

After that we visited my parents for a while, which was nice. Brought to them some more surplus wedding gifts (we cleaned closets) that we don’t have room for and chewed the rag a bit.

Met Terry and Danielle at Zachatechas in Neenah, which is a Mexican restaurant. It’s in a little strip mall location that has a Chinese buffet right next door. Kitty corner (see, it helps to know how to spell it) from Zachatechas is Cy’s Bistro, *the* place for Thai food. As it stands, I know of no other intersection of such great food in a small radius. Perhaps Neenah should be our target destination when we start house shopping in a few years. Scratch the perhaps.

After that, we went to Danielle’s parent’s house and played “Enchanted Forest”, this great 80s board game. It involved a chastity belt and prancy boots. It was grand.

Filled Terry and Danielle in on the Eric situation and talked about it for a bit. No big whoop.

Left around 11:00 and barely made it home awake. Marie and I are such 10:00pm people, it’s not even funny.

Sunday was gobs and gobs of football. Spent the first half of the AFC game at home, going through my Memory Box (filled with love notes and various other items that bring a smile to my face). Had some stuff to throw out, but not a lot.

Watched the second half of the AFC game and the NFC game with Eric at his place. Things between us seem fine, but I have a feeling they are still off. Whatever.

After I got home, I got a call from Carrie B., which was so totally great. I think we talked for a good hour and a half, just always nice to catch up with her. She’s embarking down the Nursing School path and is in the process of getting a cat too. Such fun.

Did a little reading and then eventually drifted off to sleep. For the first time, I noticed the neighbors talking very loudly during the night and prevented me from sleeping. It almost sounded like they were in the hallway outside our door, but I couldn’t tell.

Random Thoughts of the Day
The more I think about it, the more I think Scratch the Perhaps would make a good band name.

If Carrot Top and the Barenaked Ladies suddenly are missing, I know nothing.

This weekend I get to figure out my taxes. It’ll be the first time filing with Marie, and I wonder how it will all come out. If we get a refund, probably will put it in an IRA or towards a new entertainment center. It’s all about priorities people.

I figured as much. I've got a Roth from 2000, but didn't contribute in 2001. Kinda had a wedding to pay for. Hopefully, we can squirrel away some for this year.

Dubya? Whacked up? You've got to be shitting me!
