Your ear, not your rear.
Jan. 25th, 2002 04:50 pmMarie had a meeting last night, so I split my time between eradicating the Oshkosh BB/BS website and playing Nintendo. Cripes, Nintendo is fun. I think I need to do some scouting on eBay to get some more cartridges. A tip for those of you who don’t know: If you have a game that doesn’t work, put some rubbing alcohol on a Q-Tip and apply it to the contacts of the cartridge. I bought Kung Fu via eBay and couldn’t get it to work. I did the above and it works great now.
Four people lost their job today as a result of ‘restructuring’. I *hate* working when it feels like people could be let go at any time. Damn capitalism. Since October, eleven people have had to either find new jobs or transfer to other departments. In a company of 230 people, it’s rather minimal, but still. 11 people forced to change their lives due to events beyond their control. Sigh.
Tonight I think Marie and I will be playing some cards and maybe watching a movie. Marie’s been under the weather with a sore throat so hopefully we’ll have some tea and lay low. I think Saturday will be an outing with Terry and Danielle and the receiving of our new furniture, depending on when they deliver. I think I’m also going to try my hand at ironing again. If only I had a web cam…
Random thoughts of the day
I’m getting really excited to start some new projects. I chalk it up to my new “At Least 9 Hours Of Sleep Per Night” program. I recommend it to anyone.
I’ve got some more authors to investigate, which makes me pleased as well. I think the only thing I could get obsessive about having a lot of is books. I’d like to go through my collection and make some donations to the library, but I really should start a list of book reviews. That way I’d know which ones I’m most fond of and which ones to re-read on a regular basis.
My hair grows too fast for my liking. I’ll have to get a buzz from Marie this weekend. I think I’m border-line mullet and that doesn’t sit quite right with me.
For as much as a pain that LJ can be when it’s not updating correctly, it’s one of the coolest things I’ve come across on the Internet in a long time. I’m really glad of all the friends (and few enemies) I’ve met using it and hope to remain in contact with them (mostly the friends) from here on out. “Friends”, you rock.
