I’m an old testament kind of guy.
Dec. 12th, 2001 10:47 amYesterday went by rather swiftly. Set up two interviews and inquired about a new job myself. Will be faxing out my resume today. It’s a place in Oshkosh that might split time with Appleton. They have locations in both cities and sounds like they are growing rather rapidly. I dislike doing the ‘covert’ job search while at work, but there really isn’t any other way to go about it.
Anyway, talked to my sister-in-law last night since Christmas will be a little different this year. Hoping for the best, but I just want to have everyone together vs making sure I get to open up presents on Christmas day. Also got a chance to talk to Kate. Haven’t talked to her since I was still in school. Same old Kate, which is good. She told me about how her boyfriend cheated on her (which immediately damns his to hell, in my book) and how the wedding she had to stand up in (which was on the same day of our wedding) wasn’t very much fun.
Terry came over around 7 and I proceeded to smite him in cribbage (winning 4-2, bringing the total score of Brian:10 – Terry:6). First one to 26 wins a CD, as is the way with all of our tournaments. Terry won the last one, and I’m making him pay for his insolence. Sort of. I also humiliated him in Yoshi, which is always a lesson in laughter.
Terry left around 9:30 and I did some reading in bed before calling it a night. About time to take back some books to the library, so I might turn tomorrow night into a library stop and shopping excursion. Still have some gifts to get so I hope to get that done this week.
Today should be a pretty average day. I’ve got an interview to conduct this afternoon and working on updating the Intranet site. One of our webmasters redesigned a lot of the pages for me to make them look more professional and I’m trying my best to update all the info and links. The task is large but I find it fun.
Random thoughts of the day:
I should learn how to iron. I seem to have a lot of wrinkly clothes when I get home from work and need to be more self-sufficient.
I just got a present from one of the temp agencies we work with. It’s a little statuette of Santa Claus. I’m touched, really.
Is the process of re-gifting wrong (or sleezy)?
Anybody have
mikecheck’s email address???
