Well, I dropped off my car this morning for repairs, as my rear defrost is on the ‘fritz’, for lack of a better term. Called the mechanic at 2:00 to see what the deal was, since I hadn’t heard back from him yet. Turns out it is the switch that is bad but GM no longer makes them, so I get to go salvage yard hunting with my dad this weekend. Good thing is that they are only charging me $20 for the labor of looking at the car. So, hopefully we’ll be able to find one on Saturday and fix it, just in time for the cold weather coming.

My company’s holiday party was this past Saturday. Marie and I couldn’t attend due to being in Wausau but it was *all* the talk this morning. Last year, the party was held at the Convention Center downtown. Marie and I attended and it was very nice. Good food, nice sized room, etc. This year, it was held at the Hilton, which just opened this past Spring. It’s closer to EAA location-wise and obviously a newer (and supposedly more prestigious) building. It doesn’t hurt that our Executive VP in Marketing’s wife is the head of Events or Catering or something at the Hilton. This is commonly known as a ‘conflict of interest’ to most people. Anyway, it turns out that the room was totally crowded and there weren’t enough tables (apparently, our president didn’t have a place to sit), they ran out of food (it was buffet style and they were actually cooking the food while people waited! With 250 attendees, it would take roughly 4 hours to feed everyone.) and a lot of people ended up a little tipsy (because they had no food to balance out the alcohol). I guess it was a huge mess and a lot of people were *really* pissed off. Our Executive VP in Marketing isn’t here today, I wonder why…I just think that it couldn’t have happened to a more deserving person, but I don’t want to get too nasty.

Other than that, today went by very fast. This is a good thing. Lots of responses to the ads that we ran this weekend, and these positions should be fairly enjoyable to fill. Have gotten a lot of phone calls today, which I don’t usually get. But most of them I’ve been able to handle or deflect to co-workers.

I think tomorrow night I’ll be doing a ton of laundry (most of my work clothes) and grocery shopping. Wednesday night will be celebrating Marie’s b-day with dinner and a trip to my parent’s house. Should be a good week. I’m in a good mood and I like that.

Hope to have a new feature on my website and clear up some of the clutter that I have on there. I also would like to say hi to my brother’s friend Mike. Hi, Mike.
