1. What’s the wisest piece of advice your mother has ever given you?
Nothing life-changing but I remember before a high school dance she asked me to have one slow dance with someone who wasn't there with a date. So I did and it was fine and she was really appreciative.
2. What was the worst haircut that you’ve ever gotten?
Marie tried to give me a haircut once right after college in an attempt to save money, despite the fact that my haircuts were $15 including tip. Even the lady at Cost Cutters that had to fix it was bewildered.
3. If you died tomorrow, who do you think your death would impact the most?
Nate, for sure. I think about dying pretty frequently and all the things I still want to attempt to teach him.
4. Do you prefer writing in pencil or pen?
My handwriting seems much more legible in mechanical pencil but I always write in pen.
5. What was your favourite snack when you were a kid?
Cheetos.
6. How did you come up with the name for your pet?
The two cats I was involved in naming were both Simpsons references (Mitten and Snowball).
7. What is the worst physical pain that you've ever experienced?
Appendicitis was no joke - the urgent care doc told me that it was on the verge of bursting and to get to the ER immediately. And that sweet relief of drugs shortly after I was admitted was a slice of heaven.

Getting divorced didn't exactly tickle. But it wasn't a sharp pain, just a prolonged ache.
9. What book was so bad that you didn’t even finish it?
I'm amazing at not finishing books but mostly I don't get very far in them to begin with. None stand out as truly awful as my memory for books is not great.
10. Are there any colours that you refuse to wear?
If someone helps me, I'm up for wearing anything. My colorblindness means I've got a wardrobe or navy blue, black and gray.
11. What one thing are you most proud of accomplishing?
Accepting this job, shortly after divorcing, with no guarantees of it working out turned out to be a great accomplishment and if it was at a different time in my life, I'm surely I would've chickened out.

I read It at far too young of an age.

I had a recurring nightmare that I was at the hospital, being taken away for surgery and terrified. My parents were smiling and waving at me as I was being wheeled away and I tried with all my might to scream but no sound would come out.

Rape.

No strong preference - being female likely would be infurriating.
