Headed home after work and whipped up some dinner for Marie and I. Cheese tortillas with corn, salad and mashed potatoes. Good eats all around. Marie left soon after to go see Shrek with her Little Sister, so I watch some TV, scanned in some new pictures (http://www15.brinkster.com/brianmurton/pictures.htm), made dinner (see recipe below), emptied the dishwasher, washed a few dishes, rocked out for a bit and then talked to Carrie B. on the phone. She is so much fun to talk to and it’s been forever since I gave her a jingle. She probably can’t make the party on the 22nd (which sucks ROYALLY) but will try her hardest to make it. It’s on one of the weekends she works (at a mental health center in Chicago) and finding someone to switch weekends on the weekend before X-mas probably won’t happen. Did get a pretty good response from about 8 or so people, which makes the planning phase a lot easier.

Marie got home a little before 9, so she got to talk to Carrie too. I really need to make more of an effort to call my friends more often, it’s always good to hear from them and just catch up. More personal than email, for sure.

Tonight we had a slight change of plans. My parents are coming for dinner (to help us devour the baked ravioli that I for some reason cannot stop writing about) and then we’re all going to see “Life As A House”, with Kevin Kline (ok, he’s not coming with us, but he’s in the movie). We saw the preview when we went to see K-PAX and thought it looked pretty great, as did my parents (who ended up seeing K-PAX the same day we did and thought the same of the LAAH preview). It’s a small world after all.

Tomorrow will be some errands (getting the oil changed in both of our cars and probably a trip to Target) and watching Point of No Return, which Marie rented last night. Also plan to bust a few moves on the Gazelle and perhaps overcome my fear of Tony Little and watch the instructional video that came with it. The man frightens me with his long, curly hair and his Fabio-style, buttocks-like chest.

Sunday will be the Packer game at the guys’ place with Eric and probably some video games, just like usual. I should probably come up with a kick-assed Christmas present list as well, maybe Sunday would be a good time to do so, peruse the flyers from the paper and see what I can come up with.

Random thoughts of the morning:
Sometimes, one answering machine message can change your whole damn life. Probably for the better.

I think that asking everyone to come to the party to either bring toys or supplies for the Christine Anne Center (for domestic abuse) would be a lot better than having a gift exchange amongst us.

Didja know I’m a card-carrying member of Planned Parenthood?

I get to have ‘Best Leftovers Ever’ again for lunch today. Have I mentioned that I truly love food?

I think photographs are magic.

You are very glad I didn’t end up being an underwear model.

Are you in favor of butt-chested men?

I think the flowing locks would cause me to perish. I really, *really* can't stand hair longer than I have it now. Perhaps in another life, I was a Camero-fixing greasemonkey with a mullet and the karma has caught up to me.
