I headed home from work in the pitch black (despite the fact it was only 5:00). I’m still not used to the time change. Since we ‘gained’ an hour, why don’t I feel more rested in the morning? Anyways, had some supper and watched the Halloween episode of the Simpsons that Marie had graciously taped for me from Tuesday night. Good stuff, I think it’s getting slightly less funny than in the past, but still excellent to watch.
We got a notice in the mail that our apartment manager was going to be coming around to inspect all of the apartments (80+) for some reason (I’m assuming to find out if people are pre-trashing the place, as was the case of the apartment we moved into or possibly to see if the heat is working in all the apartments, etc.) So Marie and I cleaned up after supper and gave our apartment the once over. I tackled the bathroom and computer room while Marie cleaned the remainder. Toaster ovens are awesome, but they get icky pretty quickly.
After that, worked out for about 20 minutes on the Gazelle and found myself getting pretty tired. I’m hoping to keep up the routine of every other day for between 20 and 30 minutes and hope to see some improvements soon. I think switching to a mostly meat-free diet has helped in terms of losing weight and being healthier overall, but I should make an effort to cut down on sweets as well. Suffice it to say, Halloween didn’t help matter much.
Spent the remainder of the night playing cribbage vs. the computer, checking some random LJs and reading more of To Kill A Mockingbird. A pretty meager evening but a good one all the same. I also made a minor (but possibly major) change to my website. I added ‘Home’ and ‘Rants and Raves’ buttons to each of my rants and raves. I did a search on one of my topics and realized that when I went to the link (due to my use of frames), only the Rant came up and no way to go back to the rest of my site. So I figured that to increase traffic, if someone comes across my stuff randomly, they’d have a way to get to the rest of my pithy thoughts too.
I’ve got a lot of work today that I’m not too thrilled about doing, but I’ll at least have a way to pass the time. No word back from possible job prospect in Fond du Lac, I’m planning on calling them tomorrow. I’m not sure if the commute would be something I’d want to do, but then again, if it meant a more meaningful job, maybe it would be worth it.
It’s okay to be 23 and have NO idea what to do with your life, right? Please say right.
Tonight will be a bachelor night, as Marie is taking her Little Sister to see Shrek on campus. Marie and I saw it already and I found it to be rather enjoyable. So I’ll probably spend some time on-line or maybe rocking out. I prefer to listen to loud music when I’m alone, so as not to infringe on Marie, so tonight might be the way to go.
I also might do some CD shopping tonight too, but it’ll depend on the weather. It’s pretty glum outside, so might be a better idea to just stay in.
More later on, Eric and I are going out for lunch (Subway’s Veggie patty, here I come!) so I’d best get some stuff done between now and then.

Date: 2001-11-12 01:33 pm (UTC)So, any reason you and vegasdemilo aren't together? Sometimes friends make the best partners, as I found with Marie. I'm sure there is more to it than I know, but would you ever consider it? Anyone you can sing and dance along in the car with has to have the ability to take you for better or for worse.
Best of luck with the curse, if you need any holy water or anything, let me know.
The Vegas question
Date: 2001-11-14 01:41 pm (UTC)When we first met there was a lot of romantic tension involved in our relationship but we got that stuff out of the way early on in the relationship and have been purely platonic friends ever since. Once we moved in together it wasn't even a consideration. She would sit on her couch and I would sit on my couch and that was a comfortable distance for us. It was perfect the way it was.
Now though I wouldn't completely rule out anything in the future. And I'd be lying if I said the thought (of getting romantically involved) hadn't crossed my mind recently. So, you never know. But I'm not about to sit here thinking about it or analyzing the situation while I could be just enjoying it.

Date: 2001-11-15 06:44 am (UTC)Since she was engaged, there wasn't that awkwardness if we both would have been single and it really allowed us to get to know each other without embarassment. Does that make sense? We were friends for about 8 months or so before she broke it off with her fiancee and we got together.
If I didn't know better, the way you write about her (and the way she writes about you), you are soulmates. If the world would crumble and everyone but the two of you would disappear, could you survive? That's how I feel about Marie and I think that's how you feel about Vegas. Of course, it's very easy to play relationship counselor without knowing either one of you, so forgive me if I'm off in left field.
Ah, what do I know? ;)

Date: 2001-11-19 01:43 pm (UTC)The thing about d4d is that he has a horrid habit of having to know -exactly- what is going on at any given time when it comes to things of a romantic nature. In other words, he talks things to death.
I'm the opposite. I like the mystery and the excitement of not knowing, of the initial flirtation. That "ga ga" period is usually so short that I see no reason not to revel in it. d4d ruins that with all his damn talking. If, after five years, there is any real potential with us, he needs to shut up and kiss me.
