After getting home from work, made some kick-ass vegetable stir-fry with brown rice for dinner and watched the Simpsons. Headed over to ‘the guys’ to play my two Madden games (lost to both the Rams and the Terry-controlled 49ers) but took the lead in the cribbage tournament vs. Terry, 5-4. Best record out of 50 games gets a CD and I think it’s gonna be me.

During the game, there was a rather intense exchange between two friends. Basically, someone brought up a rather sore subject to someone else as a joke, and that someone else didn’t take it as a joke. Tempers were flaring but it ended without incident. Funny how some people perceive things and how one person’s joke is another person’s rage. Glad it didn’t come to blows.

I made a few trades, picking up a new right guard, wide receiver and linebacker. I’ve pretty much overhauled the roster since taking over the club. Hasn’t paid off yet, but I think that it will soon. Need to improve my o-line in the off-season, as it’s the reason my running game has been playing, and I quote, “piss poor”. Football is so silly, but so addicting.

Got home and basically couldn’t sleep last night. Laid in bed for a good two hours before I could get both comfortable and shut my mind off to get some sleep. I had a weird dream in which Marie and I had a basset hound. He jumped onto our bed and laid down right on my pillow, covering the whole thing. Then the scene switched in which it was Marie, another person who I didn’t recognize/get a good look at, Eric and I, all going to bed together (as in sleeping). Eric had an old, tattered copy of a Bible (which I guess was mine). He picked it up and the front paper cover came off. He then asked “What’s so funny?” as I remember laughing. Your guess is as good as mine, LJ.

I’ve got a lot of work to do today, we’re having new employee Orientation tomorrow all morning, so I probably won’t post until the afternoon, if at all. I find the session to be pretty enjoyable, as I have a small role in explaining the Intranet to new employees and I get to basically sit back and learn more about HR stuff from the questions that come up.

Tonight my parents are taking Marie and I out for dinner (I know, how cool is that?) since they are going on a mini-vacation and want to see us before they go. So we’re heading to Neenah after work and get some good eats. Lately, I’m finding out how much I really like my parents. I don’t think I could see how important they are until I moved out and started on my own.

Random thoughts of the day:
So, I might become a webmaster. Sort of a second job for a greeting card company based in Hawaii. Not getting my hopes up too high, but apparently their webmaster is making quite a bit per month just to keep the site updated, and I figure I can do the same for roughly half what they are paying the current person. Still finding out what programs they use and if there is any design work (as opposed to just keeping the pages updated), but I think it would be a cool experience, a chance to make some extra $$ and an excuse to get a cable modem. How can I go wrong?

I also figure that if I do become a webmaster/updater of index pages, I’ll be able to revamp my website since I do most of my updates at work (due to my slow dial-up connection at home). Thought would, quite frankly, be rather cool. Talk about motivation to complete my Fuck Best Buy section…

I have to go pee now.
