Three Seven Three Four
Jan. 31st, 2005 01:16 pmPeople in this office walk with purpose. I'm in Marshfield today, working with a new hire. He's a nice guy, but pretty shy and he outdressed me by wearing a tie. Curse him! Anyway, this office has the thinnest carpeting I've ever walked on and as such, anytime someone walks by it sounds like a herd of elephants are coming to trample me. I like it that people walk fast, because I cannot stand walking behind someone with no desire to get anywhere. It's the main reason I can't stand being at the mall.
The weekend was a lot of fun - tennis with Eric was great. I'm considering joining the tennis club (which seems a little, I dunno, Aryan) since my employer will pay for 1/2 of the $200 yearly membership. The prospects of tennis in the winter are exciting. Plus, it's fun to get humiliated in front of different people. The 9 year old girl in the court next to us was amazing and it was good to be humbled. Lunch with my parents was enjoyable as was getting caught up on some SFU. I had the brilliant idea of pushing the stuffed chair up to the computer desk, which makes it much more comfortable to sit for long periods of time.
Last night, the UU fellowship had a vote to identify our congregation as a Welcoming Congregation with regards to GLBT folks. Seems like a no brainer, but needed to make if official I guess. Anyway, it makes me glad to be part of a progressive 'church' without all the horseshit.
I also accidentally figured out how to switch between tabs in Firefox, something I've been sorely missing for a long ass time. Ctrl-Tab - you are my hero.
