First and foremost, the Seahawks are 10-4 under my guidance, dismantling the Broncos and Cowboys last night. Have successfully incorporated the screen pass in my offense and am reaping the rewards.
Last night was a good evening, with the exception of me almost running a red light (oops). I’m usually a pretty good driver and follow the rules of the road, but I had two things going against me last night. First, it was lighteninging (is that a verb?) outside something fierce and was awesome to watch. Secondly, with the construction around campus, they moved some of the stop and go lights further towards the bridge I was crossing, so I was about 10 feet from the intersection when I realized I had a red light. I slammed on the brakes (I was in the left lane) and screeched just a bit of my tires but came to a complete stop no problem (glad I did get those 3 new tires a few weeks ago). There was a car in the right hand lane full of girls that inched forward to gawk at me, but I just smiled and waved. It wasn’t a busy intersection, so had I missed the red, I would have been fine, but would have shattered my near flawless driving record.
I made it over to the guys’ place, busted out a few video games and watched the Lions lose (again) on MNF. Suckers! The mood was a little morose last night, not sure if I was just oversensitive or if it was a more somber mood due to the ‘retaliation’ (snicker snicker) in Afghanistan. Weird. I gave Brian back his Bill Hicks and The Strokes CDs and he hooked me up with Rocket From the Crypt’s “Scream Dracula Scream” disc. I listened to it this morning, pretty good stuff. I always get that “On a Rope” song in my head.
I got home around 10:30 and crashed. I was actually pretty tired and only laid awake for an hour last night. Small victories.
Today has been pretty anti-productive but it’s sort of gloomy outside. I don’t know if we’ll be going disc golfing like
jonnyv wants us to this weekend, as the weather looks like rain. I like rain, good sleeping weather. In any event, with Poker Day this weekend, it can be any weather and I’ll still have a good time. I think Marie is going to head up to Eagle River for the weekend, as I’ll be wrapped up in Male Bonding with Poker and Packer game.
Random thoughts for the day:
I’m feeling much better after the meat has left my system, thank you very much.
I need to make up a list of goals for myself. I’ve been wandering aimlessly through my life a little too much lately.
I could use a tweezers at work, as I often pick at my beard and get beard whiskers stuck in my fingers like splinters. I’m not kidding.
Do you believe what I say now?
