The family get together on Sunday was nice - Marie and I worked quite a but with my parents the day before (pulling weeds from the lake, helping with the food, setting up the screen tent and badminton set, etc) but I'm glad we came up early - they never would've had everything done without our help. Had a chance to visit with a few relatives and took the paddle-wheel boat out with my cousins. Had tons to eat, videotaped some of the fun and generally had a nice time. My aunt and uncle drove my grandparents up, so Marie and I took them home. It was a nice ride and I'm more convinced now than ever that interviewing my grandfather would be an awesome project. No more excuses - time to get it done.

We got home and Marie took a nap while I indulged in a few more Family Guy episodes. Marie's mom and stepdad were early, but not by too much. We visited for a bit before leaving for Fahrenheit 9/11. I tried to avoid most of the press about the film because I wanted to be surprised. I thought the movie was outstanding and very moving. I laughed, I cried, I was ready to rip up the seat next to me and throw it at the screen - Moore's come a long way with his style and vision. I don't understand why so many people are up in arms about it being a documentary with a slant to it - aren't all documentaries presented with a bias? Anyway, my concern was that the movie would be preaching to the choir but I was glad to hear the woman sitting behind me saying "Oh, my word!" multiple times.

Monday they took us out for brunch before heading out around 10:30 or so. Marie and I cleaned up the brush in the backyard and then [censored] each other silly. I talked with Terry and was pleased to learn that he and Danielle will be moving back in two weeks (instead of over Labor Day as originally planned). He'll be making a trip back next week with a van load of posessions and we're planning on a tennis outing for the first time in a very long time. Should be sweet.

If I ever get a tattoo, it'll be of this icon. Maybe on my boobie.

I also saw Farenheit 9/11 this weekend. I'm now planning on moving to Canada.
