Time flies when you are not at work. This weekend my mother-in-law was here for a visit, which was pretty nice. Friday night we watched the telethon for the Sept 11 tragedy and it was so surreal to see and realize that it is slowly sinking in that 6,000+ people lost their lives unnecessarily. The media, as always, is on overkill mode and it’s just gotten to be too much for me. I make a resolution to not watch the news again. So much bullshit delivered with a smile. No thank you.

Saturday Marie and her mom had the Arts and Crafts Fair on campus, so I pretty much had the place to myself. I spent some time on the computer, updating my resume and starting a very topical job search. Got to play some more Fallout as well, I am very confused over the game but it’s pretty fun. I think Fallout 2 is going to be even cooler, but I have to finish the first one before I dive into the second. Also, I got sucked into VH1 for about an hour between the Blind Melon and Blues Traveler stor(y/ies). I also made kick-ass ravioli casserole for supper, and we ate soon after they got back from the fair. That night we watched The Usual Suspects, what a great movie. Realize what a great actor Bencio del Torro was. If you haven’t seen “Traffic”, go check it out now!

Sunday Marie’s mom left in the morning after breakfast (I had my way with the omelet pan and won. Good stuff) and I headed over with Marie to do some shopping. Got two new shirts for work, long sleeve and styling. Also stopped at the grocery store to get some Dr. Pepper and frozen pizzas for the Day of Football. Headed over to ‘The Guys’ and dropped off the groceries and settled into about 5 hours of Madden 2002 and NFL football on television. They have a nice set-up with two televisions, so we could play Playstation2 and watch the NFL games at the same time. I’m proud to announce that the Brian Murton-led Seattle Seahawks are a virtual (6-1), losing only to the Chiefs. Yikes. It was so sweet to watch the Vikings drop to (0-2), especially against the Bears and the Jaguars improve to (2-0), especially against the Titans. Hope the Packers can kick some ass tonight.

This morning I dropped off my car to get the ‘once over’ at Matt’s Auto Body, seeing how the winter weather is fast approaching. I need 3 new tires (how the hell did that happen) and new front brake hoses. Probably about $350, depending on what tires he has available. All in all, I haven’t sunk too much money into the car, but it’s getting to the point of holding off on big repairs since it’s not worth a whole lot, but should get me through two more years (hopefully).

Work is work. Anybody want to give me a new job?

Was it the kind of omelet pan with the little half lid attatched so you can flip those puppies?

I love those things, they make me feel like the master chef that I know I am. I'm going home for a few days and I'll get to use a kitchen again! I think I'm going to make chicken cordon bleu to celebrate.

They have those things? Cool. Actually, I was just referring to the shallow pan we use for eggs. Maybe I should look into those. I was watching Juliette Child one time, and she made omelete-cooking look SO easy and I tried her technique and ended up with raw egg in the burner. She may be old, but she's got mad skills.
