Conduct unbecoming of a date-rapist

You should all add the humor feed to your friends list. Yo.

Warning, excessive use of 'rama'.

Why does it always seem like I've got one nail (finger or toe) that needs to be trimmed?

The weekend was great. As there are many, many lawn-mowing mishap-related journals, I'll save you the details of my own. I destroyed Terry in person at cribbage, winning the first tournament since I wore tighty-whities (or so it seemed). We had a nice conversation and brownies.

Julie and I went to the Fellowship together yesterday (her first time, Marie was training counselors for her summer job in Oshkosh) and she really enjoyed it. She wasn't able to join me for lunch and the lack of potato products at home (to soak up the honey mustard recipe I made) led me to getting a veggie burger and fries at Tom's Drive-In. [livejournal.com profile] htothem, I got a Oreo blizzard-clone and I must admit, it was delicious. Of course, that only meant that Marie had left over Oreos from her training as well as someone brought in four packages of Oreos to work today for their birthday treat.

All of the partners and senior managers are away today on a retreat. Apparently they make a lot of noise when they are here, because it's very peaceful today.

I got to talk with Shreya last night - someone I've unintentionally neglected. She's in the throes of vet school and has roughly 18 minutes of free time every 12 months. I hope the next time we go to Madison we can hook up with her, as she's not able to make it to Eric's wedding this weekend.

Never buy software from England. It's a recipe for disaster.

I was going to start a new book last night, but stumbled across a show on PBS about cats and ended up crying. Twice.

Awwwww.

Marie was watching something else downstairs and watching 'Nature' on the commercials. She came up after it was over and proclaimed "That show made me cry!"

Three comments:
1) Did the tighty whiteys help you win the cribbage game?

2) Oreos rule!

3) Was the PBS show Nature? That show always makes me cry at least once. They had an episode about lions that makes me cry if I think about it too hard.

My bad - I meant as in 'I think the last time I won a tournament against Terry I was still wearing tighty whities'. Stupid poor grasp of proper ways of explaining what I mean! I did, however, have my lucky boxers on, so I think there were higher powers at work.

Yes, they did rule.

And yes, it was nature. A cat rescued her kittens from a burning building and suffered many burns as a result. Also, they had a nursing home that started having cats among the residents. One would visit those who were the most ill to comfort them in their final days. Cripes, I'm tearing up again!

I've seen that one. It made me cry too.

I volunteered to have my cat visit nursing homes after I watched that episode. My cat would be perfect for that. The guy never called me back though.

If you ever start watching one about lions, turn it off!

The lion one was the preview for next week. I'll avoid it at all costs.

The Futurama Panaramas were coolerama than bananarama.

And I sent you an email about that Soul Coughing show we talked about here like.... a couple weeks ago.

I think this is a sign that you need to pick up some ice cream and crumble the Oreos into it.

What happened on the PBS show?

I took it as a sign that the Nabisco company wanted me dead in 6 months.

They talked about how some nursing homes have cats for the residents - one in particular tends to stick by the ones who are the most ill. Made me think of my grandpa, in a way. He recovered from his most recent hospital stay, but made me think about his mortality for some reason.

Also, there was a cat who rescued her kittens from a burning building and suffered some serious burns to her face and body as a result. She recovered and was adopted, as were the kittens, but still...very touching.

Oh! I read about the cat that saved her kittens! That made me tear up, too. I'm so happy that somebody brought her home.

Okay, that article is just funny.
