Lazy evening
Sep. 18th, 2001 02:58 pmThat’s how my last night was. Made supper for Marie after work and watched some Simpsons and a really, really old episode of Seinfeld. George had hair, if that’s any indication. After that, it was Diablo II time, rock on. I’m using the Amazon character, so I’ve got to use distance and ranged weapons (javelin, crossbow, etc) to thwart the baddies. It’s more difficult than the hulking Barbarian, but in a good way. So, yeah. Spent a while with that, read some more of Tropic of Capricorn and had a Popsicle. In my book, a good night.
Tonight will be more Madden games (I’ll be finishing Week 4 and starting Week 5) and maybe some more CD burning. Would like to make a RATM greatest hits CD for Terry to keep in his car, so anytime I have to ride with him I’ll have some decent music to pick (besides Usher, Babyface, and Blackstreet). Once in a while, he’ll slip in a Bosstones disc, but not often enough.
Also tonight is a fantastic supper. In case you hadn’t noticed or bothered to care, Marie and I live on mostly side dishes. It’s been helpful with our giving up of meat and we’re more grazers than big meal eaters anyway. So I found this kick ass recipe for Cheezy Hash Brown Potatoes in the crock-pot. Frozen hash browns, condensed cheese soup, evaporated milk and a smidge of loving. Mix and cook for 6-8 hours on low in the crock-pot and get ready to dig in. Plus, it makes a ton, so we get good leftovers for a while too. Yes, I enjoy cooking and have an obsession with food.
To counter that, Marie gets a membership for her (and her family – that’s me, people!) for the YMCA. I’m excited about signing up for a class and losing some excess Crisco here and there. I don’t see myself as an aerobics person, but any activity would be good, especially with the Winter coming. I’ll let you know how it goes. I think I’ll probably try and go ‘work out’ before work since I will no longer have an altered schedule at work. See, I had been coming into work at 7:45am instead of the usual 8:15 because I left early on Thursdays to meet with my Little Brother. Since I’m not meeting with him on a weekly basis anymore, I’ll have some more free-time in the morning. I slept in until 7 this morning, which felt pretty damn good.
Um, what else. I think I’m going to go bicycle shopping with my tax refund money, hoping I can get a good deal and maybe get some riding in before the snow comes. Either that, or put it towards my college loans. Still haven’t gotten my check, but should be coming either this or next week. I considered sending it back to Bush to put in the Social Security fund, but since technically it’s an advancement on my tax refund for the coming year, I might as well put it to good use now.
Random thoughts for the day:
I feel like spending money, but I don’t know why.
I want to start a letter writing campaign. First up? Phillip Morris.
I really will update my website one of these days. Really. Trust me...
