Greatest. Thing. Ever. (Lately). Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] foldedpagesfade.

It's nice to have the house to myself once in a while and this weekend was no exception. Played with the cats, watched 22 of 24 episodes of the third Simpsons season, watched the Pearl Jam DVD (good stuff, but video quality was average), watched the Foo Fighters DVD (excellent all the way around), dorked around on the computer, ran some errands, bathed the cats, hung up the new blinds in our bedroom, set up the bookcases, lifted weights, shoveled the driveway, finished a compilation CD and nearly finished another, and generally acted like a spaz.

I leave for Michigan on Saturday. I talked with Terry last night and we're both as excited as can be.

I made a foolish decision on Friday night, but think things will turn out okay. In the past, I've contributed to the Russ Feingold campaign. He's a Senator for Wisconsin and an all around good guy. If I can't be president, he'd be my next choice. Anyway, I got a call Friday night saying how they appreciate my past contributions and that Feingold is now #1 on the Bush list of "bad guys" (I've found that the truth can be easily obtained by taking the opposite of what the Bush administration says). Anyway, the fund-raising guy said that this means a lot of "Republican money" will be raised to try to get Russ out of office and would I be willing to contribute. So, I said yes. That's not the foolish part. The foolish part is that I gave my credit card info over the phone to a (basically) complete stranger. There was enough in the phone call that made me believe it was legit, but just enough to make me wonder about it. Granted, I've got theft-protection with my check card, but I've still checked my balance on-line about 20 times since the call. I guess my point is, I'm an idiot.

And it's to mention this again. So far, you wonderful LJ people have contributed $160 towards 'the cause' and I'm incredibly grateful. This is just a reminder in case anyone wishing to donate missed it the first time around. I need to come up with some catch-phrases, post haste!

Also, I recently ate part of a portabella mushroom and didn't die. It wasn't good, but it wasn't awful either.
