The bookcases are done and my dad rules.

As posted before, this weekend will be a TV weekend. I'm stopping at Family Video tonight to rent some DVDs. Any recommendations? I'd like to see if they have seasons of Mr. Show or Six Feet Under (I just realized Illeana Douglas is/was on it and hence, it must be mine), but anyone have a good movie they recommend? Comedy, if you please.

And just so I'm clear - Dean says 'yargh' and the media says it will cost him the election and Dubya does everything in his power to ruin this country and still has high approval ratings.

Presidential issue #141 - Hot for Teacher will replace Hail to the Chief.

Cell phone dealy is on hold until May, when Marie can keep her cell number and I can take over our home number (because it's the greatest phone number ever).

I believe this weekend I'll make the awesomest NOFX mix CD ever.

Six Feet Under is a wonderful show.

But.

I must warn you that she is only on one episode in the first season (the only episodes currently available on DVD). It's a stellar performance, but if you end up not liking the show, you'll have to weed through six or so episodes before you arrive at her moment in the spotlight. Or, if you end up disliking it, you could just watch her scenes, admire her acting ability and exotic beauty, and be blissfully confused by the plot :)

A good, little-seen comedy: Flirting With Disaster. It's widely available but didn't receive a lot of attention when it was released. Being There is an oldy-but-goody. And I have a soft spot for -- dare I admit it? -- Zoolander.

Damnit! Part of the reason I bought Chasing Amy on DVD was to see the deleted scene that she's in (her only part of the flick).

But one is better than none.

I'll mark the rest down. I have a soft spot for Ben Stiller and Will Ferrel is always good. Marie's intense hatred for all things Stiller might make that the right pick for the weekend.

Thanks ;)

I'm very curious as to what extent the media controls public opinion. I guess the two underlying factors are that 1)people are stupid and 2)they believe everything they hear on tv. Dubya's administration believes that if they repeat something long enough, it will become true. The media is NOT calling them on it. Hence our current situation.

It's too much of a 'me first' mentality. That's why tax cuts always sound good - they just don't realize what they are giving up to get that money back.

Now, if we all got our news from The Daily Show, this country might be headed in the right direction...

I adore Sports Night--not a movie but a TV show. The complete run is out on DVD. First season is excellent, second much less so, but I still curse ABC for cancelling it.

Although, Peter Krause, one of the leads from Six Feet Under, is also on it, so you may get sick of him or make Marie suspicious that there's something she should know about you.

I love that program! My partner and I never watched it when it was on, but recently borrowed the DVD set from a friend and thoroughly enjoyed it. And I don't even care about sports!

I too enjoyed Sports Night - caught a few episodes when it was on Comedy Central.

Sports Night, My So Called Life, ...ABC doesn't have a good track record for keeping the good ones around.

And with all the mock flirting I do with my male friends, nothing would surprise Marie.

Thanks for the suggestion!
