Sometimes I give myself the creeps.
Sep. 10th, 2001 04:49 pmThinking about my eyes for any extended period of time really gives me the chills. Is the eye an organ? How weird would it be to lose an eye? It seems like such an extension of the brain. I can’t imagine living without sight. Where am I going with this?
I had a good weekend. Friday night went out to eat with my parents and then rented The General’s Daughter. Note to self: Refuse to ever watch anything with John Travolta in it ever, ever, ever again. It was unendurable and nauseating. I believe Carrot Top has more acting talent. Ok, maybe not, but you get the picture.
Saturday was some shopping at Target and off to see Twelfth Night performance (Shakespeare) locally. It was an outdoor performance that was really good, but I was cold in a t-shirt and shorts. Afterwards we went to The Guys to share our wedding picture proofs and chat. Myself, Marie, Terry and girlfriend Danielle, Eric and girlfriend Lori and Brian. It was pretty fun and got to see Weezer on SNL.
Sunday was pretty much all Football. Went to The Guys around 9:30 to get some practice in on my new team (Seahawks) for the Madden 2002 PlayStation 2 season. I lost two games, but improved throughout each. Watched the Packers and Jaguars win both of their games in a big way and relished in the Vikings loss to arguably, the worst team in the NFL. Life is good.
After that, started the Madden 2002 season with victories for all four of us (Myself – Seahawks, Brian B – Chargers, Terry – 49ers and Eric – Saints). Will be playing games 2&3 on Wednesday night, wish me luck. Such fun to get wrapped up in something that doesn’t matter. I only scream at the TV over sports, so it’s fun to do it if you can blame yourself for a bad play or missed tackle.
Liz was visiting for the day and spent the night, so we hung out and talked for a while before turning in to bed. That’s the one part of college life I miss the most, being able to have good conversations with friends. I hope to write more letters to my friends and have communication that way, as I love getting mail and who better to hear from than a friend, right?
Tonight will be grocery shopping after dinner. Marie’s got a few meetings tonight, so I’ll probably get some reading done or work on the songs for the compilation CDs I’ll be making. And probably rocking out to some CDs at home, as I forgot to bring any to work, and am almost falling asleep listening to jazz.
Random thoughts of the day:
Say a little prayer for my family today, ok?
I think I’m going to get Fallout 2, after a rigorous sales pitch by Justin Ogden.
I’m reading a book about how economic development and social programs aren’t enemies. Interesting stuff.
