I've had a sinus headache for three days. Today is better than yesterday, so that's encouraging.

I got word that my computer is ready to be picked up. 5 glorious days off to learn XP and move all my stuff off the old computer to the new one.

I spent most of the first five-day weekend sick. Christmas Eve at my aunt's was nice. Lots of good food and visiting with my cousins. The highlight was looking up dirty words in my cousin's new German/English dictionary. Hey, she started it!

Christmas day was at my parents. My brother set a new record by saying less than eight words during the three hours they were there. More good food and a chance to watch Savannah try to open every present under the tree.

Saturday Marie and I went to Waupaca to the cottage. I was in the middle of my cold and Marie was just coming down with it, so our spirits weren't the best. We did some shopping and played some games. Marie and Mom went to see Somethings Gotta Give while Dad and I watched the game and feasted on pizza and cookies. He kicked my ass 5 games to none. I got my revenge by besting him at cribbage 3-0.

Sunday we returned home and I nearly had eleven heart attacks during the late games. The Vikings are tools, pure and simple. I can't even spell football and I know that you take the points every time. In any event, I think the Packers have a real chance at making it to the Superbowl.

Yesterday I got together with Terry for some cribbage. We also had to settle up his winning the last tournament, so we headed to Exclusive. Brian was working, so we chatted with him for a while and he planned to join us when he was done at work. I bought Terry his Rod Stewart CD and got Chasing Amy on DVD for myself. Brian joined us around 9:30 and we had a really nice conversation. Brian will likely be moving to Chicago in the summer to be with Amanda. Terry and Danielle will be returning from Michigan in the summer to the Two Rivers area. We talked about our plan to go on a road trip every 5 years and our planned visit to Michigan in February. Good times.

Tonight, Carrie B is coming over and bringing dinner with her. It will be so nice to catch up with her and introduce her to the cats. Tomorrow will be putzing with the computer and getting things ready for Poker day on Friday.

I'm getting my haircut in an hour. The haircut is $11 and I usually give him $14. In lieu of the holiday season, should I up it to like $17 or $20? I have not social etiquette. So, what do you think?

Drop me a line if XP gives you any problems. If you directly connect to the internet with it (no firewall/router for internal network), then make sure you have the Blaster/32 worm patch installed.

So far, so good. I've got WinXP's firewall, ZoneAlarm's firewall and McAfee's firewall all running.

Better safe than fucked has always been my motto. Thanks for the tip and glad to see that you're 'back'.
