Be sure to fill me in on your reaction to "Dude, Where's My Country?" after you finish it.

As someone who's never owned a DVD (let alone a DVD player), can I ask from someone who obviously knows: is it really worth the money and energy?

Depends on how much of a 'fanboy' you are - I have a strong need to see all things Kevin Smith and the extras (commentaries, deleted scenes, etc) are worth it for me. Also, the picture quality is far better on a DVD than VHS. Also, the thought of having all episodes of The Simpsons fills me with glee.

I'm not one to jump in on new technology quickly (as is clearly evident), but so far, it's been worth it.

The book is on a long list of 'To Read', I'm sure I'll post some reflections on it once I'm done.

Deep Elm, good stuff. I LOVE Brandtson. I'm so out of the music loop (well, everything loop really). I'm trying to play catchup on good 2k3 cds. Let me know if you have any recommendations.

My current favorites:

Red Animal War - Black Phantom Crusades
and
Seven Storey - Based on a True Story

Both Deep Elm groups and both quite addictive.

Deepelm.com has some sample tracks.

And as always, The Dismemberment Plan rules (um, er, ruled).
