Starting off the workday by slamming your knee into your desk drawer with such force that tears well up in your eyes is not a good strategy for making said workday a good workday. I try to keep my uttering of the phrase "Oh, motherfuck!" to a minimum, but today I was helpless.

In other bad news, Mitten has taken to shitting outside of (as in, right next to) her litter box. We're switching to a new litter (from a traditional grainy kind to a recycled newspaper pellet kind). She's apparently not a big fan of this. We clean her box at least twice a day, but to no avail. Hopefully the Humane Society can offer some advice.

After dinner, Marie and I managed to get over $1,000 worth of blinds for $300. 70% off sales are indeed a good thing. These better have some magical properties so as to give the user fully refreshing sleep every night or make breakfast in the morning.

We also browsed the cologne counter. Most smelled like bug spray to me. There was one that Marie likes (the name escapes me) so we'll see how that goes.

Also, I should have had the camcorder rolling this past weekend, as when I played Bad Religion to pass the time while washing dishes, Mitten utterly and absolutely freaked out. She ran through the entire house and did the Sideways Humpy Dance repeatedly. For those that don't live in our house, the Sideways Humpy Dance is when Mitten arches her back and strafes back and forth while hopping, as if preparing herself for a great battle (usually with a grocery bag or Nerf ball). It was quite amusing.

I find a carpet remenant set in front of the box can really cut down on tracking, and if your box doesn't have a hood, and your cat will tolerate one, that helps too.
