don't clean your ears with your fingernail when we're engaged in a face-to-face conversation.

Since getting a cat, I've noticed that everyone who has ever thought of a cat or said the word 'cat' aloud has a cat icon.

I'm giving birth to another mediocre day.

Also, I am in the mood for a long trip on public (ground) transportation.

Jack Black is funny because he acts so dumb. Everybody knows that the pinnacle of humour is something so base that you don't have to think. *makes face*

I think that Jack Black is funny in small doses. I mean, most over-the-top characters are amusing in that amount. I think it's only when it's continually shoved in your face that it gets annoying. Hello, I have a brain that works just fine, thank you. You don't have to slam the punchline in my face.

On this vein, why is Tom Green funny?

I think Tom Green is funny(-ier than Jack Black) not because of what he does, but the reactions he gets from other people. Watching Glen squirm is part of the success.

That said, I think both of their 15 minutes of fame ran out months ago...

yeah, i can see the funny in small doses thing...i feel the same way about tom green (although i found tom green's first few shows hilarious, he got old really quick).

the main problem i have with j.black is that fat-girl movie he did with gwyneth paltrow (where he's the guy who can only see "her inner beauty" and doesn't notice she's grossly overweight). cause you know what? JACK BLACK AIN'T NO SKINNY ANYWAY! shit. that whole "he's a hypocrite" thing (fat guy does movie where the main joke is that the girl is fat) makes me want to hit him. and when he was in "high fidelity" he just played "the annoying record store guy you wanna hit in the face."

i would however give him a chance as a supporting actor- he might be funnier if he was used in a movie/TV show as a member of an ensemble rather than being the main character.

Shallow Hal didn't bother me that much. I think it's because I know guys in real life that aren't anything to look at, but expect their girls to be supermodels. So, while I did find his character annoying, I'm almost desensitized to the reason.

I read some interview where Black said he was intentionally playing these types of characters. He said he'd keep doing them until everybody was sick of him.

Ah, well. I guess everybody has different dreams.
