Eek, my anus

twicketfaceIn high school I went to the video store with some friends to get a ‘cheesy horror movie’. We asked a staff member who very highly recommended a movie entitled The Entity. It was a semi-true story about how this ghost haunted this lady by tampering with her brakes and occasionally raping her and beating up her kids. It was incredibly weird but mesmerizing at the same time, because it was so cheesy. At one point, my friend Lindsay yelled out “Eek my anus” in response to a scene in the movie and it has engrained itself into my brain. So there you go.
Anyway, Marie and I went to Appleton last night to visit with my grandparents before going to Julie’s for dinner. My grandparents were unable to come to the wedding due to their ailing health but we did get to show them pictures and will bring along our wedding video next time to show them. They always make such a big deal when we come to visit and it’s fun to visit with them. Married 62 years and still going strong. Marie and I are working on a month of being married. Weird.
We headed to Julie’s place for a nice dinner of Papa Murphy’s pizza (cheese with pineapple) and cookie and cream cake for dessert. Ugh, I’m such a junk food junkie. Note to self – eat more rice and bagels. I’m hoping to watch for bikes to go on sale with the coming winter and maybe get one at a good deal for next year.
We had a nice visit and got to see pictures of Julie’s crazy adventures. She and Joy (both former co-workers of mine) always find trouble to get into. It was pretty fun. Next time we’ll be getting together at Joy’s place, we like to do the ‘round robin’ dinner get togethers.
I was pleasantly surprised to find a CD in my mailbox when I got home last night (Marie picked me up straight from work to go to Appleton). A ‘friend’ that I met on the face to face message boards burned me a CD of 11 songs that I didn’t have by the band I love more than any other. Suffice it to say, I’ll be listening to it about a million times at work today. I’m going to borrow my dad’s CD burner and make him a copy of the NOFX/Green Day disc I burned for myself and send to him. Spread the karma.
Tonight will be grocery shopping for Marie and I and maybe some cleaning of the apartment. My dresser accumulates quite the crap load of things through the week and it’s about time I sorted some of it out.
I really hope we get the pictures back from our photographer soon because I’m aching to see how well they turned out. Oh yeah, and I will be sorting out the honeymoon pictures on my website sometime, just wanted to get them posted soon so everybody could check them out.
This week Marie and I are heading to Eagle River to Marie’s grandparent’s cottage. Probably the last nice weekend we’ll have, so I hope we get to cruise out on the pontoon boat and play Progressive Rummy too. I’ll have to stop by the library to get some good books beforehand and also bring a pad of paper to write down the interesting dreams I never fail to have when up there.
My dad has his fantasy football draft tonight through the league he’s in at work and I might be able to make it, but it depends on if Carrie B will be stopping by our apartment tonight on her way back from Australia to Chicago. Her sister is studying abroad there for a semester and she got to spend 2 weeks there with her aunt. Lucky duck! Anyway, she should be calling us today and possibly spending the night before going back to Chicago. She hasn’t seen our new place (other than the virtual tour on my website) and we have a spare bedroom reserved for cool guests like her. So hopefully she’ll be able to crash with us tonight.

My camera broke a while back and I would like to get a new one. Any suggestions on a good brand/model to get?
I promise to write more for my website soon. Maybe I should post the column I wrote on Nader about a few weeks ago. Well, maybe not.
