It's an incredibly slow day at work. Of the usual 50 people in the office, there are 11. I did get my haircut over lunch, which I think is the best haircut I've gotten in a really long time. I get too excited about my own haircuts.
Yesterday was a blast from the past. I got home to a message from Luke, my junior high school friend I've gotten back in touch with since taking my new job. I called him to make plans (he's in town for Memorial Day Weekend); we're going to get together for lunch on Sunday. I'm quite excited for it, just to catch up and see where life has taken him. I think it will be interesting and have high hopes that it will be a good time. I'm looking forward to seeing his parents again too; I spent so much time there as a teenager. I haven't been to his house for 10 years.
I've got an ambitious weekend ahead of me with lots of things to do. I hope that Marie will agree with me that it's been incredibly too long since we've rented a movie and that we get a bunch to watch. We've got some plans for Saturday and Sunday, but I think things will be pretty laid back.
I had a dream that I met
reject in a restaurant. He was tall, like me. He stuck his hand out and I hugged him instead. We then sat at opposite ends of the room from each other, each at a computer. I guess that's just the way we're used to communicating, but it was a little disturbing.
One of the (excruciatingly many) things I don't understand is when someone posts an inflamatory message in a community or on a message board, 15 people immediately respond telling said someone to go away/fuck off/read the rules/etc. Is it not understood that said someone is only looking for attention, to rile people up? Why play into their trap by doing that. I think a downfall of Western Civilization is the inability to ignore things.
