I'm kinda like the Ultimate Warrior
May. 6th, 2003 07:46 amFriday night: Checked out of work early, got home to change, and headed up to Appleton to meet with our lender (final signing of paperwork), off to the Fed Ex pick-up to solve the Package Mystery (
dream4distance hooked me up with an advance copy of Alkaline Trio's newest release (that doesn't come out until next week - there was much rejoicing)), and then to Eric and Lori's. Hit up the Olive Garden for dinner and then back to their place for a visit. Got to see home movies of Eric at the tender age of 3 in his Darth Vader Underoos. Priceless.
Saturday Marie had Andrea's bridal shower in Appleton, so I passed the time getting back into Max Payne and wrasslin' with the laundry. I also watched the rest of the Madden interviews. The tape has an annoying line on-screen from our old VCR, but the stuff on it is pretty great. I like that we can verbally assult each other over something as trivial as a video game and not let it affect our friendship. Got the call from Danielle around 4:00 to see if we would help her and Terry with their invitations. We agreed and met up with them at 7:30 in Appleton. Terry and I became chalk experts as we colored in trees and grass for 100+ invites. It was a lot of fun and we got a chance to chew the rag. Didn't finish until after 10:00 and didn't get home until almost midnight.
Sunday was pretty laid back. Got some cleaning done (When I'm in the mood to clean behind the refrigerator, I need to take advantage), some reading and also cleaned up the hard drive a bit. Marie took a nap and I gleefully made a compilation CD for myself of some songs I recently downloaded. I think the new NOFX album is going to be great, based on what I've heard.
Marie and I have a new arrangement that I will be in charge of the lawn mowing/shoveling and she will take over the much-disliked chore of ironing for me. Hell yes. I like how we have our duties split up and am doing my best to keep 'picked up' better, as it seems to be one of my (many, many, many) downfalls.
Canker sores be damned, I want to eat an orange every day.
