Jan. 16th, 2003 04:45 pmI'm looking to hire someone to go through the rigamarole of buying clothes for me. I'm an oddly-shaped man and finding clothes that fit, quite frankly, fucking sucks. Having a foot that is two sizes bigger than the largest size they carry is a hassle. I can never try on shoes at the store, I always have to order them and hope that they fit. If they don't, I have to re-order them. My latest endeavor entailed going to the local JC Penney with the intent of purchasing two pairs of dress shoes. I never get shoes 'on sale', since stores have sales to reduce their inventories. So ordering shoes doesn't reduce the store's inventory so there is no incentive for the store to do so. I found a pair of both brown and black shoes and ordered both. The brown shoes came in last night. I picked them up and brought them home to try on. Within 30 seconds, I ascertained that a) the shoe was too big (which is a wonder of the world in and of itself) and b) the material was already cracking on the top (this was a brand new shoe). So now, I wait until the black shoes come in, take them both back and fit tooth and nail to get my money back instead of store credit. I don't mind shopping at Big 'N Beefy shops, but there isn't one in town. Yes, I'm whining but it has merit.
Today my department took me out to lunch in celebration of my new job. It was insanely cold in the restaurant, but a nice celebration. I got an executive folder/type thingy. Like a fake leather folder that holds a legal pad and has pockets for other stuff. It even has my name on it!
I'm ready for my last day to start.

Date: 2003-01-16 08:57 pm (UTC)I have a similar problem with the shoes except my feet are too small. Fortunatly for me, I can solve that problem by buying children's shoes.
