twicketfaceLast night was about as relaxing as they come. Had dinner, went for a nice and very long walk, burned Soul Coughing's "Ruby Vroom" from my brother so I can return it to him this weekend, tried and failed to connect to the Internet at home (for the first time since switching services), read Calvin and Hobbes in bed (and the irony of him complaining of being in bed by 8:00 was *not* lost on me) and was asleep by roughly 9:00. Got up at 6:00 for the first time all week and feel pretty good today.
I'm going to try to listen to lyrics as if the lyricist was talking to himself/herself. That just dawned on me last night as I was listening to my f2f comp CD. Long walks are good for just about everything.
I'm leaving work at 3:00 today, so that rules. I might get my haircut, I'm overdue.
Marie and I are taking my parents out to either Applebee's or Mancino's for dinner before the play. I talked to my mom last night and she's having problems with her knee. As much as I love her, I get angry with her for not taking better care of herself. Sometimes it's like she has to go through pain to somehow protect the rest of the family.
I'm going to start on my Christmas letters soon, as that usually takes a good chunk of time and I like to really make them personal.
I've also got to get re-motivated to get my scanning project back on track. I got an enormous amount done, but still have a ways to go. I'm still contemplating the best way to organize the photos:
1) Change all the photo names (i.e. "2002 - August 7th - Brian and Marie by the Space Needle - Seattle - First wedding anniversary trip.jpg") to a number (i.e. 00435.jpg) and have a decoder sheet to identify each picture. I'm leaning towards this since I can put more information on the decoder sheet (date, location, people in the picture, other info) than just a super-long file name. I think some of the file names might get cut off or mangled as 255 charatcers is not that much to work with. I like to be descriptive.
2) Leave them as I've been doing them (saving them as a long photo name based on my opinion of the picture) and stop being so fucking anal-retentitive.
