Oh thank you, wish-granting email forward!

Here is the dream I had last night. Alkaline Trio woke me up mid-way through, hence the fog surrounding me as I type this.
James Squeaky wrote into Reader's Digest with one of those "funny true stories" that are never really all that funny. Anyway, the story was about
reject. I didn't read it, but I spotted the word Jeb in it like 6 or 7 times. Then I looked at the end and it said "jamessqueaky, Madison, WI".
Later, I was riding on a bike, going just fast enough to avoid tipping over. There was a man in a spacesuit delivering newspapers. And old woman with a red flowered dress on and a mohawk was sweeping leaves on her sidewalk. When the spaceman walked past her, she demanded 10 more newspapers. I remember it was windy out too. I also had a really deep dream at the bachelor party, but was woken so abruptly, I forget it. Damn it.

So, in honor of Veteran's Day or some such silliness, my employer is putting together care packages to send to Our Troops in Afghanistan. Since I work in Human Resources, my Boss (since Marie convinced me that it was nasty to keep calling her a bitch AND since she had to have an emergency root canal on Monday, I'll just refer to her as 'Boss' from now on, not to be confused with 'boss', who is my new supervisor that is just really great) has for some reason put me in charge of this project. Can I claim conscience objector status?
Yesterday was flu shots at work. I stayed with the nurse and collected money and laughed at everyone as they told the same joke over and over again (when asked which arm they would like the shot in, they would point to someone else and say "His!" HWA HWA HWA!!!). It was nice though because the nurse is about 5 years from the "little old lady" category, but is already acting the part. Very sweet and friendly.
After dinner, I headed to ShopKo to get blank CDs and toilet paper. I managed to avoid the Foo Fighters and Pearl Jam releases chanting my name, but just barely. Made it to Terry's for some cribbage. Improved from being down 4-13 to being down 11-16. Two skunks on my part really helped the cause. We also made plans for New Year's Eve, which will be awesome.
I've got two interviews today at work, and hope to have 3 of the 4 openings filled by tomorrow. That would be great. I haven't done any recruiting in a while, and will have had 9 interviews done by the end of the day today. A nice use of time.
Tonight will be another trip to the Y and finalizing plans with my parents for Friday and Sunday. Friday we're going to see my cousin in Les Miserables, Saturday is "Bowling for Columbine" in Milwaukee and Sunday is the birthday celebration with my parents at their place. Should be a full weekend. I'm less than excited about driving to and in Milwaukee, because I always get lost, but it should be okay. Marie's a good navigator. And I'm wicked excited that Carrie B will be making the trek up from Chicago despite her having finals and work and other sorts of Grown Up Responsibilities that she's shirking in honor of a good time. Must...Bring...Camera...
I also hope to burn some CDs this weekend, but I'm not sure when. Time to get the compilations going. Terry, I've got just the thing for you.
