The weekend was pretty good. Marie got back on Friday from her conference in Chicago, so it was nice to have her back. I went to get my haircut right after work, and it rules. I cannot stand having long hair, and it was getting pretty bad. Marie went to bed pretty early and I stayed up and finished Max Payne. What a fun, fun game. I know will start over on the next hardest level and continue to be a one-man wrecking crew. What fun.

Saturday was a busy one. Woke up and got ready. Picked up little brother Eric and we went to the downtown YMCA. He was our tour guide. It was my first attempt at racqetball. It was a lot of fun but more just hitting the ball around. With three people on the court, it was a little on the dangerous side. I got hit in the hinder once, but nothing I couldn't handle.

After that, we took him to Little Professor with a gift certificate for his birthday (which is today). He got a Harry Potter-esque book about a wizard. He was very appreciative. We took him back home and then went to get something to eat. After seeing the line at Perkins, we opted for Fazoli's. We then went to get groceries and return back home. A two hour nap was much needed and enjoyed. Went to visit my parents, off to the mall to get new exercise pants and deodorant (they kinda go together) for me and new jeans for Marie. Then went to Eric and Lori's for dinner and Trivial Pursuit/Simpsons Clue. I won my third consecutive Simpsons Clue game, and this was with me outright guessing at the room (Android Dungeon). Time to retire again.

Sunday was a short day, as Eric and I headed to West Bend to Jeremy/Kristie's place for the Packer game. I really, really like their house (my first time seeing it) and was impressed at how much work they've done and how nice it is. Had pizza for dinner and cheered as the Packers destroyed the hapless Patriots. Ahman Green finally had a good game (glad I started him in my fantasy league), but I still ended up losing to Eric. Tom Brady scored exactly zero points for me. Nice job, bub.

Got home and had some supper with Marie. Got a call from my mom and was alerted of a job opportunity at Gannett (Corporate Media Entity of Death) and since my cousin works there, I might have an "in". Went to pick up Marie after dropping her car off to get the brakes worked on, sent a resume and said a little prayer and proceeded to watch Home Movies until bedtime.

Got up this morning and made my way to the Y. Listened to Nimrod on the treadmill and upon inspecting the receipt, realized that 5 years ago to the day I purchased the CD. I remember the long, cold walk from my dorm room to Exclusive Company. Good times.

This week will be a busy one. I got free movie tickets from a co-worker, so tonight after picking up Marie's car we're going to most likely see My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Tomorrow will be drums with Brian. Wednesday will be cribbage and CD shopping with Terry. Thursday will be dinner with little brother Eric as we prepare a meal together. Friday will be free and Saturday will be going to Door County with my parents. I also hope to hit up the library sometime too. Whew.

Highlights of the weekend:
At Little Professor, we saw a kid with the most beautiful mullet I've ever laid eyes upon. He looked like he was wearing a coonskin cap instead of actual hair. He was roughly 13 or 14, so old enough to comprehend the results of looking in a mirror. I shouldn't leave the house without my camera ever again.

I had a weird dream (see below) that I was shot by The Sniper. It didn't even hurt.

Jerry Falwell jumped into the ocean, never to be heard from again. Ok, that's just my personal wish for the week.

I also had a lot of emails/comments over the weekend and it made me feel special. I even got an email from Jeremy, meaning the temperature dropped significantly in Hell. Hopefully, it'll stay that way.

1. What's your earliest memory of having a pet? If you didn't have pets, what's your earliest memory of wanting a pet?

My childhood pet was a dog, a beagle named Carrots. Named by my brother, sadly.
I think my earliest memory is getting to close to her in the lake when I was swimming and she dog paddled and scratched my face and knocked my goggles off. It was on accident, of course. I was pretty young when we got her, so I don't have clear early memories that I still can access.

2. What kind of pets have you had in your lifetime? What is the largest number of pets you've had at any one time? If you didn't have pets, describe a friend or relative who had a lot of pets.

We only had Carrots, which was pretty perfect. She was a very good dog and we all loved her a lot. She was really my mom's dog in that she always was protective of her and they two of them were nearly inseperable.

3. What kind of domestic pets have you wanted? Why? Which ones have you avoided? Why?

Dogs, for real. Only dogs. I would have avoided cats because I'm allergic but Marie's insistent on having one. I can't blame her, we'll just have to be cautious.

4. If you could have any animal in the world as a pet, what would it be? Why?

I'd get a white tiger for Marie and a duck for myself.

5. What are some of your pet-related pet peeves? Why do they bother you?

I don't like it when dogs barf. Not that it's enjoyable for them, but it's pretty grody.

1. If you could only choose 1 cd to ever listen to again, what would it be?

That is indeed an impossible question. Even if I could make a mix CD, I would get tired of it after a while.

2. If you could only choose 2 movies to watch ever again, what would they be?

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Dogma

3. If you could only choose 3 books to read ever again, what would they be?

I don't really have books that I read and re-read. I'm being difficult.

4. If you could only choose 4 things to eat or drink ever again, what would they be?

water
pizza
cheese (string or otherwise)
cereal

5. If you could only choose 5 people to ever be/talk/associate/whatever with ever again, who would they be?

Not counting family (which includes Marie): Terry, Carrie B, Jeremy, Danielle and Brian B.

1. What's the first thing you remember wanting to be when you grew up?

A rock star.

2. Describe a dream you remember. The first one that comes to mind.

I had a dream last night that I got shot by The Sniper. It was like a dart in my leg, near my knee. I was relieved because I thought the odds of me getting shot were pretty low, but the odds of getting shot twice were nearly impossible, so I was safe. I also was in some sort of weird cubicle elevator too.

3. What book are you reading?

I'm reading Living the Simple Life, more because it's mindless and I can read it during lunch than anything else.

4. What colour are your sheets? Curtains?

Sheets are black and curtains only exist in my head.

5. What song is in your head right now?

Raindrops keep falling on my head...

6. Waitaminnit... Where are you?

At work. I'm always at work.

7. I am afraid of...:

The further decline of civilization

8. Your day job/dream job:

Stay home dad who can work on the computer (writer, perhaps) and raise a family at the same time. A Mister Mom without the Michael Keaton foolishness.

9. What movie have you seen the most times?

Clerks, most likely.

10. One question for Jesus, or Buddha or Muhammed, etc:

When I kill people in my head, that doesn't really count, does it?

11. The guilty pleasure you'd really rather not admit to here:

I still pick my nose.

12. Comfort food of choice:

Cheese or anything with dip.

13. What's the last video you rented?

Amiele, Monsters Inc and A Beautiful Mind

14. Who do people say you look like?

I'm pretty unique looking (that's a kind way of saying oooo-guly

15. What's the bane of your existence?

The feeling of powerlessness. That or the leftover cereal milk. Blech

16. What's the last thing you found on the ground and picked up?

I don't find much, probably some loose change in the apartment

17. A writer worth reading:

Thich Nhat Hanh. He pretty much knows it all.

18. Where would you like to grow old?

I'd like to live out West, but will most likely stay in the Wisconsin borders.

19. A word of wisdom:

Mnuah

20. The question you get asked ALL THE TIME!!!:

Did you know you look like Abe Lincoln with that beard?

21. When was your last hospital visit?

When I went to visit my grandmother, before she died. It was a nursing home, but I assume that counts.

22. The last thing you said out loud:

Boo Boo Kittyfuck

23. Current clothing:

My favorite work khakis, my favorite navy blue shirt with stripes, brown shoes, boxer briefs, socks that won't stay up and a tee-shirt.

24. Your favourite season:

Fall. Allergins will die!

25. In my last lifetime I was probably...

Still pretty tall.

my friend had two ducks once. she named them Lucy and Ethel, but we never found out whether they were boys or girls.

Because they will one day be our masters, given their control over land, sea and air.

There were two ducks that lived under a bush outside my dorm window in college. Marie named them Fran and Al and they were inseparable.

Ok, so I said it outloud right before answering the question, but that still counts, right?
