Cripes, is it really 11:00 already? Work time is just flying by which is a good thing but also makes me realize how incredibly busy I am and tired I am when it’s time to go home. Starting today, I won’t have a day off for 16 days. Eek. Bring on the overtime but watch out for Mr. Crabby Pants all the same.

Saturday will be my bachelor party, and I think it’s going to be lots of fun. No strip clubs and no bars, what better way to go? Plenty of mini-golf, fine Italian food and poker to be experienced. I’ll have to work that day until about 3 or so, but don’t have to go in the following day until noon, so that should work out to my advantage.

I saw Green Day: Behind the Music last night. It was really good and reminded me why I like the band so much. Sure, some think they ‘sold out’, but I think their music has progressed and they still kick major ass. Want to talk about sell outs? Talk about the Goo Goo Dolls. I still remember seeing Green Day in 94 at this tiny little club about 10 miles from here. It was roughly 600 degrees inside and the stage was about the size of a twin bed. It was my first road trip (I had gotten my driver’s license the month before) and afterwards I couldn’t hear for a few days. It ruled.

I’m still in need of some ideas of gifts to give to my groomsmen, so if anyone has any ideas, please drop me a line at brianmurton@yahoo.com, I’d appreciate it. Maybe will go with the old-fashioned monogrammed money clip, but that just seems like the lame way to go. Thong underwear maybe? I’m stumped.

Random thoughts of the day:
I think I want to learn how to play the drums.

After the wedding, I’m going into declutter mode. Everything must go!

I went go-karting on Thursday. It was wicked fun. But it made driving home seem like I was still in the go-kart. I was driving a little too fast on the way home.

I need to work on my tan or I’ll be one red lobster come honeymoon time. Good thing I can lay out by the pool and enjoy the rays.

I’m reading a good book right now, called “Eat the Rich”. No, it’s not the Aerosmith story, it’s a book on economics. It’s humorous and interesting, two things economics are not supposed to be.

I’ve also made the decision to give up meat. I want to start slowly, first with red meat and then proceed from there. It’s going to be tough, but it’s something that I think is one that will make a big impact on the world around me. Maybe Hot ‘N Now’s closing was significant after all…
