I got to finally see the Weezer video for "Keep Fishin'" a few nights ago, staring the Muppets. It was simply great. I was a little disappointed they chose that song for the next single as it's one of my favorites and the elitest in me likes to keep those good songs hidden from popular radio/MTV. Still, it was good to see that Miss Piggy is still horny as she's always been. Poor Kermit. And Gonzo, for that matter.

Also, I'm very much excited to see the video for Dismemberment Plan's "Time Bomb", available for viewing/downloading at their site: www.dismembermentplan.com. Probably won't catch it until we're back next week, but well worth the wait.

I've noticed lately that there are lots of user of LiveJournal that bite the hand that feeds by ceasely bitching about when LJ is slow, down for maintenance or generally doesn't work right. I can't understand how a free/relatively low-cost outlet of expression comes under such harsh scrutiny on a regular basis. I've probably had one or two instances in the past 14 months that have caused me to simply wait a few hours before being able to do what I want to.

I'd like to do a study on the effects of capitalism and desire/happiness and get it through the skulls of the American public that the problems they encounter are quite actually nothing compared to the problems of the rest of the world. I've always tried to keep in the forefront of my life, my activites and my outlook on life that while bad things may happen to me, there are literally millions of people (even billions of people) that have it much worse than I do. This is not to say I'm all for the removal of disappointment and anger over things that happen in life, but rather to re-examine what we get so incredibly worked up over (see: return policies of major electronic stores, computer equipment that doesn't work and job unhappiness) and question how efficiently and wisely we're spending our emotions.

Something scary that I realized recently is that I don't know the names of any of my neighbors. There are seven other apartments in our building, and I couldn't name one of them. I've had conversations with a few, but nothing substantial. Shame on me.

Last night was my final trip to "the guys", as they need to be out of their apartment by Monday. I felt phony toasting with Dr. Peppers to the four of us of them when it seems like Eric is the outsider, self-inflicted or otherwise. I'm interested to see how everything shakes out once they've all split up and are at their own residences.

Tonight will be a trip to the parent's house for a final visit before vacation time. Also hope to get a gift for my departing boss, as her last day will be while I'm gone. Between that and packing up, we'll be in Seattle before we know it. Terry has been kind enough to taxi us to the airport in Madison. That guy out does himself on a regular basis.

I have to agree that Weezer's Gone Fishing Video with the muppets is priceless! I just saw it last night. I'm not a huge "new Weezer" fan, but that was a great video. I heard on their last tour they were playing a lot of music from Pinkerton, which rules. One guy I met told me they played a six minute version of Butterfly in CT as well as a ton of other Pinkerton and Blue Album songs. I think I would have just imploded had I been at the show. Oh well, perhaps there's hope for them after all.

Yes, this is a random comment. I've been MIA from LJ (and a lot of other parts of my life) this summer, but I'm hoping to get back to LJ now that school is going to be in session and my life is going to have some order to it again hopefully. BTW, I miss ya man! email me sometime.

Wow, that's great. I saw Weezer in concert once in Milwaukee, but they were "opening" for No Doubt (thus proving the existance of a great evil in this world). Face to face also was an opening band, so I was ready to leave before the main show even started. This was just after Pinkerton, they only played 5 or 6 songs, but it was still pretty great.

Hope that things are going well with you, I'll drop you a line when I get a chance. Nice to hear from you.
