Hurray for the weekend
Jun. 1st, 2001 11:48 am5 hours to go, tick tick tick. Got no real plans over the weekend other than playing with the new scanner I got (which I will be returning because it works when it wants to, hence the term ‘playing’) and doing some laundry. Whee. Marie is going home to Wausau for the weekend so I’ll be having the bachelor pad until Sunday. Unfortunately the hookers and beer won’t be able to make it until Tuesday (due to a scheduling conflict), so I guess it will be a quiet weekend after all.
I hope to finish the book I’m reading soon. I ordered if from AK Press and it is really interesting. “Fortunate Son: George W. Bush and the Making of an American President”. Yeah, how cool is that? I’m reading a lot about how he helped his dad out during his (Bush Sr’s) presidential campaign and have just stated into Dubya’s involvement with the Texas Rangers. I figure, the more I know about my enemy, the better off I’ll be. Dubya is the 14th cousin of Elizabeth the 2nd.
Work is going pretty well, tons of stuff to keep me busy since my boss is on vacation. But she’ll be back on Monday. Speaking of vacations, Marie and I booked our honeymoon yesterday. St. Lucia, here we come! Flying out of Chicago the Monday after we’re getting hitched and back the following Monday. Bring on the beach!
Random thoughts of the day:
I think that the minimum wage should be $10/hour.
If Monsanto is working so hard to create FrankenFoods, like potatoes that kill bugs, why can’t they breed something useful, like an apple with a dental floss dispenser, where the stem usually comes out? Now THAT would be progress!
All the preservatives I eat will just mean that I will live longer because I’ll be preserved, right?
I want to run through your wicked garden.
