I got a haircut last night.

It was pretty great. There is something intimate about Marie giving me a haircut, I can't explain it without it sounding stupid or topical, but I really like it when my appearance is in her hands. So much of our relationships with other people are a reflection on our inner selves, of who we are. Having someone else make up part of your identity on an outward level is somehow pleasing to me. Like if your best friend got to pick out the car you drove or if your aunt you are close to chose your wardrobe.

Not much going on for the weekend, heading to Fond du Lac to see my cousin in a play and probably do some grocery shopping as well. Planning on packing up for the trip on Sunday or Monday.

I was told to store camera film in the refrigerator when not being used, so as to increase the life of the film and have clearer photographs. I've heard the same for batteries, cold slows down the aging process. But if that's true, why do so many elderly people go to Florida?

I need to go to the doctor and should do so before I find another job and have to wait for my new medical coverage to kick in. Maybe when I get back from vacation.

I think I need more plants in my life. I get a lot out of pruning and watering the two plants I have at work. Something about removing those dead leaves makes me feel like I'm a caregiver, like they depend on me to beautify them.

My left eye is twitching something awful today. Does that mean I'll kiss a fool soon?

I stopped wearing my wallet in my ass pocket. It was wearing holes in my dress pants and giving me a sore back on long road trips. It feels nice but naked at the same time.

I think the eye twitch is just an indication of stress.

You're the second person to tell me that. I think you're both right. It all started with the raise fiasco at work.

That was pure poetry.

I'll have to ask The Grandma. However, she may be somewhat on to something. She splits her time between New Hampshire (with her boyfriend...that's a whole 'nother entry) and Florida. She goes to New Hampshire when Florida gets too hot (i.e. summer). I suppose if she was really smart, ol' Grams would suck it up and stay in N.H. during the winters too...camp out in the snow and such.

I love my grandparents. They are toughing it out in the Wisconsin frozen tundra.

Your birthday present is finished, by the way. Send me a mailing address and I'll send it out on Tuesday, before I leave for Philly.
