It’s my own fault for going to the mall, but I wanted to get specific gifts for Marie for Valentine’s day, requiring me to go against what I believe in. Luckily, the store I shopped from is top notch in terms of their stance on the environment, supporting the local community, etc. Of course, they don’t support it too much if they are in a mall, but I digress.

Do I have to be a pacifist when I’m at the mall? This was the first time I’ve been to a mall in a long time, and I realized why. So many people that devote large portions of their weekends to shopping. No agenda, nothing else to do but wander around, soak up advertising and false promises and leave there temporarily fulfilled. And here I was, right along side them. I was angry and annoyed by the time I left, which is probably more an indication of my problems than anyone else’s.

I secured the goods and headed home post haste. Our washing machine, which had been broken for the past two weeks, was back and fixed, so I had four loads of laundry to do as well. I don’t really mind doing laundry, but it’s a pain in the ass not having a properly functioning dryer. Between the two beds we have and various chairs, things dry just fine and make the apartment smell pretty good too.

Watching the Rams lose the Super Bowl was probably the greatest thing I’ve seen since the Packers have been out of the playoffs. The Rams are the suckiest bunch of sucks that have ever sucked and I’m glad their arrogance and swagger caught up to them in a major way. I’m by no means a Patriots fan, but I was cheering for them on Sunday. I think it also goes to show that in the current state of the NFL, any team can win any game on any week. I think this is a good thing, because it’ll put a larger emphasis on coaching instead of who can spend the most money.

I was bored this weekend and I don’t have any excuse for that. I’ve got stuff to do and things I want to accomplish, but the lack of desire to do it. I did work on the Big Brother Big Sisters website a bit, but will do more tonight.

Lunch with Julie was good, I really hope that she comes to terms with her relationship and ends things with her current boyfriend. Life is too short to spend that much time being unhappy.

I just found out today that hot chocolate and coffee are both free at work. See, we have a soda dispenser that is free and also a water cooler (since Oshkosh water tastes like rusty ass), but we also have a coffee/tea/hot chocolate machine. It always says INSERT COINS on the LED display but I overheard a co-worker say that if the machine had cappuccino in it and we actually charged for it, the machine would practically pay for itself. So I tried it out this morning when no one was around, and sure enough, free hot chocolate. Comes in handy on a day like this.

I’m famous, Part II: I was on Wisconsin Public Radio today. My scanner is on the fritz again and they told me what I feared the most: the scanner is most likely broken. So hopefully MPC will allow me to exchange it since the scanner is only 3 months old, but we all know the luck I have with computer scanners. Argh.

You are the suckiest suck that has ever sucked.
The rams are a much better team than the patriots.
I am convinced that *something* was going on.

Eek, such hostility.

I think it came down to coaching and the fact that the Rams didn't think they had to prove themselves. All the more reason for everyone to celebrate the Patriots, since people were counting them out since the pre-season.

I experienced a similar let down when the Broncos beat the Packers in what was a hugely favored game for Green Bay.
