Does anyone else just hate the Olympics?

twicketfaceSeriously, is there a bigger waste of resources and time? Patriotism is a disease, of sorts.
Last night I got sucked in to television, big time. They were showing a marathon of Real World: New Orleans (funny that ‘marathon’ usually designates hard work and movement) and from 6:00 until 8:30, I was in zombie mode. My bad, but a guilty pleasure. I didn’t watch the new Chicago episode for fear my head would explode. Almost better to catch it when they are showing a marathon and waste a day.
I was on my way to the bathroom on Monday and noticed a guy (visitor) chatting loudly outside the men’s room on his cell-phone. I entered the bathroom stall and began to ‘do my business’. A few seconds later, another person entered and took the stall next to me. Roughly 30 seconds later, my ‘stall’ buddy’s phone rang, prompting him to drop the magazine and answer the call. He proceeded to tell the caller where he was (where I work) and also that he was ‘on the crapper’. After hanging up, he announced to me “A guy can’t even take a dump without being bothered these days!”. I gave a polite chuckle, finished up, washed my hands and made my exit. I never want to be that guy.
Work is going pretty well today. I’m compiling data with a co-worker regarding our Performance Appraisal process. I realize that I’m in a much better mood when I’ve got a lot of work to do. Perhaps I should mention that when I’m getting my review and see if I can’t have more projects put on my plate.
Tonight I’ll probably be working on my video project and maybe take a trip to the library. Haven’t been there in far too long and have some authors I’d like to research.
Random Thoughts of the Day
I enjoy kicking the built-up snow from my mudflaps far too much.
Anyone want to pay off my college loans for me? It’d be pretty sweet.
