Well, what a weekend. Here’s the re-cap

Friday
After work, I hit up Hardee’s for some dinner. I asked the girl behind the counter for two packets of honey mustard for my fries. She countered with ‘We don’t have them in packets, but we have these little cup things’ (like for chicken nuggets). I spent a good half hour after that wondering if her comments were really necessary. My focus was more on the honey mustard than the container, but these are the things that I occupy my mental energy with.

Anyways, headed home and had my supper and watched some TV. Was planning on heading over to the guys’ at 7:00 to play some Madden, but got a call from Eric that Terry (who was supposed to be home when I was going over) wasn’t yet, and that Terry would call me when he got in. So, I cleaned up the apartment a bit and watched some more TV until Terry called. Made my way over there around 7:30 or so. Got caught up with each other (since Terry was gone for two days to Madison) and played my games. Beat the Colts but lost to the Titans (read: The Motherfuckers). So I’ve got 3 more games to play, and two of them are against the Cardinals. I’m optimistic. Spent the rest of the night playing some cribbage with Terry and chatting with him and Brian when he got home from work. Called it a night around 11:00 and went home. Did some reading and went to bed around midnight.

Saturday
Got up at 7am and couldn’t fall back asleep, so I went with it. Got out of bed, had some breakfast and started some laundry. Popped in Fight Club and was amazed at the movie. Visually, it was just so interesting to watch. Finished up the movie and some more laundry and then had some lunch. Talked to Marie for a bit (she was home for the weekend) and then watched Wonder Boys. The movie was good but it dragged for some reason. Perhaps watching those two movies back to back wasn’t a good idea. Oh well. Finished up the movie and got some books that were due back at the library together and made my way over to return them and get some fresh stuff to read. I got a slew of books, some on philosophy and one on non-violence, which should be a good brush up for me. Say what you will about 9/11, it’s certainly challenged what I believe.

Got home around 5:00 and had some supper. Watched the Badgers lost (again) and spent the remainder of the evening cleaning up, sorting through papers and various other items that needed attention and doing some reading. Watched SNL until after the news and called it a night.

Sunday
Woke up early to go to church with my parent in Appleton, so I got ready and was out the door by 7:45. Made it in plenty of time and attended Mass. It’s been a while since I’ve been there and it was a good thing for me to go. I don’t feel that every week is necessary, but a good refresher. Have I mentioned how confusing religion is to me? Anyway, ma and pa took me out for breakfast afterwards, which was great. Denver omelet, hash browns and pancakes. Suffice it to say, we didn’t need lunch.

Watched the Packers put on their most disappointing efforts since I can remember and fought the urge to urinate on the TV. Headed home after the game and settled into the second round of football when Marie got home. I was so excited to see her. Two days away is a lot for us, so it was nice that she was back, safe and sound. Made some supper for us and spent the rest of the night talking and watching the Sunday Fox line-up. Headed to bed to read for a while around 8:00 and it was lights out at 9:00. I was, for some reason, exhausted. Felt good to take the opportunity to crash.

Which brings us to right now. Had an interview this morning and have another one this afternoon. Progressing pretty well on the open positions and work is going well, for the most part. Tonight will be grocery shopping and a trip to the guys’ to play Terry in some cribbage and possibly more Madden. Wheee.
