I’m having one of the most UNproductive afternoons in recent history. I’m getting basically nothing done. And it isn’t very fun. My boss and my boss’s boss are both gone for the day, and I’ve simply lost my ambition for the rest of the afternoon. I usually am quite productive, but not today. I think it’s because of all the cool stuff planned for the weekend.

Random thoughts of the afternoon:
Of the 96 people that applied for the job I'm interested in, 17 made the ‘first cut’. 16 people plus me. I take that as a good sign. Phone interviews will probably take place next week. I’m getting a little nervous, but confident in what I have to offer.

Have I mentioned how much I love football? I think it’s the only thing Marie would change about me, as she generally despises the sport. Of course, her mom loves it, so it must skip a generation or something.

Having a dog would be so great. I get so jealous when I see puppies and know that I still don’t have on.

I’m so glad the bombing has put an end to terrorism as we know it, and we can go back to our regular lives with no decline in freedoms or personal liberties. Ahh, God Bless Amerika!

The biggest difference between Nathan and I is my love for football and his loathing for it.

I know that is the one thing he'd change about me. He cringes when I mention the sport.

Same for Marie. She used to twitch, but she's got that under control. I give her credit, she does ask me about certain rules and such and has a good eye for the game, I think it's the fact that if there is an NFL game on, I feel this primal urge to watch it and sometimes (mosttimes) it takes up the whole Sunday. So it goes.

He hates how into sports our society is. He finds the whole thing pointless. He also hates the fact that football fills my weekends because I'm in the band and have to travel with the team etc...so it means less opportunities to see one another.

I can see it from the same perspective - athletes turned into whiny children over not making enough money, the sexism of the sport, the violence and superficial emotion...but it's just fun to watch. I consider it my one vice.
