Lunchbox

Two things that made my day are good cheese and good soup. I got both when I went to Subway with Eric and got a veggie patty sub with pepper jack and their broccoli cheese soup. Ahh. Just before we went, I sent out an email to friends regarding if they would be interested in Marie and me hosting a Holiday Party. We can ‘rent’ on of our facilities at the place I work (which used to be the house where our founder lived) for under $100 and have a nice fireplace and gathering area to listen to music, play some games and spend time together. Interest seems to be pretty high so far, since 4 people emailed me back within an hour of sending the email, so hopefully it’s a sign of things to come. Shooting for December 22nd (since it’s a Saturday night and most people will be in the area for the holidays anyway). So we are hoping that it’ll work, since last year we threw the Halloween party and the guys threw the Christmas party, this year we just flipped it. I also figured it would be a good time to have the camcorder so we could record everyone there and have one of those “Let’s get together in 5 years and watch the tape” event in 5 years and see how we’ve all gotten flabby and uncool.

Spent the rest of the afternoon screening resumes and cleaning up some other things. Seems like I’ve been spending a lot of time putting out little fires and tackling smaller jobs, but yet I don’t seem to be getting anywhere at the same time. Sound familiar?

Anyways, tonight will be enjoyable as I’ll have the place to myself and don’t have much planned either. I bought a rubber duckie a while back, so maybe I’ll just soak for a while and finish To Kill A Mockingbird.

Random thoughts of the afternoon:
I wonder if Marie and I will get a Christmas Tree this year. We both feel that it’s sort of senseless to cut down a tree and display it for a few months and then just throw it out, but the artificial tree we do have is pretty crappy. Maybe we’ll just get an aluminum rod instead.

I’m going to try very hard to participate in Buy Nothing Day (www.adbusters.org) because I think it’s tremendous.

We got our pictures back from out new camera, and they turned out awesome. Maybe I’ll do some scanning tonight. I think I need to fix the date feature because I might have set it with DD-MM-YR instead of MM-DD-YR, which is just plain silly.

The next thing I post WILL be the ravioli recipe. I promise to then shut up about it.

Festivus for the rest of us! Heheh.

Thanks for the ravioli recipe. I'll try it out this weekend if I can tear myself away from Physics long enough, otherwise it'll happen during the week. I can't wait. I'll let you know how it comes out.

I made a mistake in the second layer in that I forgot to add the ravioli. Oops! So last night, I got to play 'bury the raviloi'. When I cook, it's always an adventure. Anxious to hear how you like it.
