Do you have any scars? Tell me about them and how you got them, please.

I have four:

One under my chin when my sweatshirt zipper got caught on the upswing. No stitches, but a littls scar.

Two on my left arm when my arm went through a glass door when I was seven or eight. One by my wrist (12 or so stitches) and one where my arm bends (25 or so stitches). I had to wear a garbage bag on my arm when I went swimming all summer and it sucked.

One just below my left nostril when a kid threw an ice chunk at my head in grade school. It looks like an upside-down Y and is mostly faded in my old age.

I have about five on my face and head, and three on my body. The craziest one is under my lip where my braces went clean through my skin in a car accident, there is also a white patch of hair on the side of my head caused by an accident involving a knife. Two eyebrow scars from nosedives, and a scar on the back of my head from slipping and splitting my head at a pool. I've got a cigarette burn in the palm of my left hand, a cut under my left knee, and a mole removal scar on my back.

One on my right forearm that's just a straight line from when my friend in HS pushed me and in my stocking feet I slid across the kitchen floor and right into the stove.

I have a bump and a scar on my forehead from slipping and bonking against a support beam. The bump is from the contact. The scar is from the skin on my head splitting open about 2 inches because of the size of the bump. When I had to get a CAT scan of my skull for another head injury that I thankfully don't have a scar from revealed a patch of scar tissue covering most of my frontal lobe as a result of said bump.

I have a scar on my right hand that looked like a fingernail crescent but has faded quite a bit from when I broke my hand and the compounded fracture broke the skin.

Assorted mosquito bite/chicken pock/shaving scars all over my legs.

oh! and I have one under my left breast from when I had a benign cyst removed that's awesome because it looks like a total Frankenstein scar.

I have a keloid scar on my left collarbone. I don't know where it came from, but it makes people ask "what is that?"

and two semicircular scars on the side of my right wrist from trying to open a pack of tennis balls.

toe- cut it down to the bone with an axe... dropped it on my foot while my dad was butchering chickens (I was five). I have no feeling in the lower third of it to this day.

pinky finger- woodshop, jigsaw, finger... what else is there to know?

knuckles- I was attacked by a monkey... I'm not even kidding.

eye- hit in the face with a baseball bat... again, I was five.

cheek- I had a cyst removed.

forearm- a picture frame fell off the wall while I was trying to hang it up and broke into shattered pieces, leaving me with three long scratch scars.

...I think that's it.

When I was in 2nd grade, I jumped into a pile of leaves and walked out with a giant stick sticking straight out of my right thigh. That left a scar.

Two small mystery marks on my left cheek. They're a mystery.

A mark on my left index finger rfom when I nearly chopped it off making a sandwich years ago.

Many hidden chicken pox scars, because God got pissed off one fortnight and Intervened in my life. Divinely. Just not very pleasantly.

Worst of all, the horrible scarring of my stomach from when that bastard doctor stole my umbilical cord from me. THE FUCKER.

Many, many, many.

Six or seven on my legs (one of which looks vaguely like S. America!) from a car accident when I was two.

A bubbly one on my forehead, and another next to my right nostril, also from that car accident. The nostril one is really faint now.

Another on the back of my left leg from the pointy pedal of my old bike, named "Spider." (The pedal kept going around and around and sliced into the meat of my leg.)

A couple of pock marks on my face (from weird facial infections [somewhat like staph] because my skin is oh-so-sensitive).

I also have one right at the tip of my chin, from slamming my face on a table when I was three.

Two scars on my hands-- one in the webbed part between my left thumb and forefinger, and one on the outside of my right forefinger-- from when Cullen threw a metal lunchbox at me.

A scratch on the front of my right hand from when a cougar clawed me. True.

A big pink scar along the pad of my left hand (on the pinky side) where I fell just a few months ago.

Needless to say, I scar easily.

(I also have a few on my upper arms, belly and legs from stupid angsty shit from my early-'20s.)

Assorted mosquito bite/chicken pock/shaving scars all over my legs.

Me too, but nothing major.

Scar on the underside of my chin, from when I was jumping from my dresser onto my bed and kinda overshot the target.

Wart removal scar on the side of my left palm. I don't even remember when that was, it was so long ago. I had a wart?! ew.

A few scratchmarks on my right arm from when I was depressed and trying to mark my pain physically. They're not really noticable unless you know they're there, but I kinda like them as symbols of survival. I thought I was so original, but it turns out teenage girls do that a lot. Hmpfh.

Booster shot scar on upper left arm. It's tiny, but I like it.

There's a bump on my head, presumably from when this kid conked me with a tin shovel in a sandbox.

I have one on my left arm from when I was 10 or 11. My sister was trying to get into a room in our basement and I didn't want to let her in. She was pushing on the door, so brilliantly I pushed back on the door--on one of the glass panes in the door. My arm went through it and the cut was so deep you could see my muscle. Had I seen this on anyone else, I probably would've thrown up, but on me I just thought it was interesting. It went numb right away & I remember the worst feeling at the time was the tingling of a paper cut I'd gotten on my pinky earlier in the day. My step-dad tried to cover the cut with band-aids, but I bled through them pretty much instantly, so eventually my mom had to take me to the E.R. and I got 8 or so stitches.

I also have one on my finger from when I was 16 because I am the only kid in history clumsy enough to cut herself badly enough with the linoleum cutter in art class (while making prints) to need stitches.

I have one on my right knee from when I passed out while working at Younkers and got a nasty case of rug burn. Yep, working retail scarred me for life.

There's one on my right wrist that I don't have any clue how it got there. None whatsoever.

I have scars on my feet from repetitive blistering from angry sandals.

Then there's the bundle of small scars on the outside of my left wrist from an unpleasant phase during middle school.

my skin is incredibly easy to scar, so i have many.

i have two on my lower back from surgery to remove little bits they wanted to make sure were not cancer, one on my pointer finger from slicing it open with an aluminum can lid, a few others on my hands from when i worked at the bookstore and got papercuts all the time opening cardboard boxes (plus one from trying to use a boxcutter as a screwdriver... bad idea), one on my knee from a pretty good skateboarding fall-down-go-boom, one on my thigh from running into a rusty screw sticking out of the back end of a camaro, one on the other leg from when i was about five and fell off the porch at my house and onto a tree stump, probably three or so leg-shaving catastrophe scars, a waffle-shaped one on my right ankle from falling onto a floor heater as a baby (the squares in the pattern on my foot are about four times the size now that they are on the heater... it grew with me), one on the bottom of my foot from another surgery, and then several in the arm/stomach area from something i am glad to say is in the past now. anyway, they all turn kind of bright purple whenever i get in the shower or when it's really cold out. so that is weird.

None of mine are as awesome as everybody else's, I just have various little nicks here and there. I do have a noticeable scar on my left hand below the first knuckle I got when I was 12, from washing dishes, breaking a dish and leaving it there, then reaching behind it to grab something. I have a tiny burn mark on my right wrist about half the size of a dime, that you can't really see because it's obscured by arm hair. And just a few weeks ago I cut the meat of my thumb cutting a box at work, and it looks like it's gonna scar. I missed the box and slashed my other hand, it wasn't deep but it's about an inch long.

I am COVERED in scars.

-Hands/arms in various dog/cat bites/scratches from 2 years of Vet Tech work. There's a dark one on the back of my right hand that looks like someone put out a match on my hand or something.

- Above my right eye, just in the hairline, there's a 1-2 inch scar from pulling a set of shelves down onto my head when I was 6. 10 stitches - 5 dissolving, 5 regular. The dissolving ones didn't all dissolve though and one grew out a year later. It was GOO!

- On the bottom of my left foot, between my big toe and the ball of my foot, there's a scar from stepping on a gardevator when I was 10. That hurt like a mother.

- you can't see it, but you can feel the crack in my skull that I got from rolling off the changing table as a baby. My dad's nickname is "Butterfingers". And you all wonder why I'm so Dory-like.

I'm sure there are more I'm suddenly blanking on.

one scar on each side of my wrist... i was seven and decided to go down my concrete driveway hill on my skateboard on my stomach. The skateboard hit a rock and stopped, but I kept going.

one scar on the outside of my right leg. i was playing with my neighbor's dog when the ball went into a pile of junk in the backyard. climbing through the junk, i stepped on what i thought was a box. it was a glass aquarium... upside down and covered with dirt. my parents didn't take me to the hospital, so i never got stiches. it's pretty... want to see?
